I say that we shoud let them in... Immigration should be legal no matter the surcumstance. We stole this land that is now the United States. We stole it from the Native Americans, and from the Mexicans. Every U.S Citizen is an immigrant in a way. From england, Africa, Germany.. There is no American blood- It's just a name.

Maybe I was wrong to say that immigration should be legal for any reason. We should make immigrants be registered with the country as we are at birth, as we are now, but it seems our main focus is on Mexico, but our president, Bush just let in 7 thousand Iraqi's or Iranians in to be "nice", With benifits, who's paying for that?

Sure, let's let anyone and everyone in.

And let's take the costs of doing so out of YOUR pocket.

ANYBODY who believes that America's borders should be completely open is a retard of the lowest order. Border enforcement is something that every single nation does--particularly those nations which insist that WE shouldn't.

If a nation doesn't have borders that are enforced, it will not long exist. What we have here in America is truly great, absolutely unique, and did not happen by accident. To allow the world's peoples to come here in unrestricted droves would undermine the culture that created the conditions we enjoy today, and it would all go to sh!t in the span of a generation or two.

Well of course our main focus is on Mexico, there are over twelve million illegal immigrants from Mexico,in this country that is enough to add two more states to this country okay, and all of it is not the Mexicans, fault is is our own U.S.governments fault and this goes all the way back to 1986,and if your 13,you weren't even born when all of this started and haven't a clue except for what you see and hear now right!
And you are right this country was founded guess what not by immigrants you mention or Christopher Columbus, think about it when Chris, got here in 1492,there were Native Americans, here already so how in the world did old Chris, discover America,if there were people already living in this land think about that.
My great grand mother was full Cherokee,so I understand very well ok.
And that is the problem now since 1986,the US government let everything and everybody into this country and the Mexicans, took full advantage of it and still are and you say we should let everyone in no matter the circumstances huh,I think we are way past that my friend and it is time to stop all of this now I am not against immigrants who want to come to this country for a better way of life but from now on do it legally and if your caught because you came into this country illegally than back to your orgin of country you go.
But the way the House and Senate can't seem to agree on what to do with the illegal immigration problem this will go on for at least another two years or until that Bum in the White House, gets kicked to the curb and rolled down the street toward the state of Texas, gee who could I be talking about!

Every country in the world once belonged to people other than the ones living there now. The history of the world up to very recent times has been about invasion and total conquest, so don't cry to me about the native Americans, and others you seem to think have dibs on this country. Our ancestors invaded, their ancestors lost. Get over it.

The only way a country ever develops a culture and enjoys some measure of internal stability is, at some point, to say, "Okay, these people belong here, and others don't." Every country in the world has done that. Why shouldn't we?

I do have sympathy for people from other countries who can't come here legally because of quotas. That doesn't mean they have the right to just barge in anyway. It's our country. We stole it fair and square.

Its just like the whole "reparations" thing. I didn't have any slaves....and I don't believe there is even a person alive right now that was a slave. If there is then they should get some money. But people who are not 104 years old do not need anything from the government. The government didn't make slaves. So why should they have to pay? My ancestors in Italy were under fascist rule and were all slaves back in the day. But you don't see me petitioning the Italian Gov. for reparations. Its in the past and it did not happen to me. So who cares.

I didn't steal anything from Native Americans or the Mexicans(which we bought the land from anyways) so why should they be let in?? We founded this land and made it what it is today. I don't care much for people who think immigrants need protection. I think we need to worry about Americans first...and if we have time...we can worry about someone else.

The Mexicans are the 'race' (I would not call them that BTW, they are Hispanics) that grew form the Spanish Conquistadors intermarrying with various Indian tribes that populated Central America or others in other geographic areas. They were the original people who tried to steal it from Native Americans. The issue currently is admittedly mostly concerning the immigration without appropraite credentials and permission by these people. The USA fought wars and won some lands from Mexico because that country was not supporting its far flung populace. And those people became better off. America became a melting pot and most of the Native American and even Hispanic blood was diluted by the overwhelmong numbers of other racial groups that came to this country when it was a large and unpopulated country where even survival was in doubt. These immigrants came under duress of persecution and/or starvation and lived very hard lives as they developed what became the American mystic and spirit. Sometime in the 19th century it became a country where people could come with the actual hope that they could be secure and protected and have immediate access to this and a life that was better than they left behind.
The USA since the Revolutionary War has been a country which operates under a specific code of laws. Some of these laws began to involve immigration requirements. Accepting all the laws is what makes a person a worthwhile member of this country and a good citizen, and by keeping the law sacrosanct under the Constitution we maintain our strength. When one commits crimes here one forfeits their rights as a citizen. You are imprisoned, lose the right to earn a living or to go where you wish, and may lose the right to vote and the right to serve in elected office permanently. So, when one enters illegally and then flaunts this by working and living under false identities, he is not appropriate material for the kind of citizen this country needs. And by not fully and completely enforcing our immigration laws (for all races) we allow our entire system of law to be weakened. I am a mixture of many races, some were here before Columbus, but the blood, sweat and tears I shed in a war for this country were from an American that wants to see our laws upheld.

Yeah, the Native Americans had this land first. Then, they didn't close their borders or control entry. Millions immigrated here and you see what happened to the Native Americans. I like to learn from history. I don't want to let that happen again.

Anyway, you're only 13. What do you know? You never worked for a paycheck only to see 20% of it go to support lazy a$$es who refuse to work and illegals who flock here, take up jobs, don't pay taxes, and send the money to Mexico. Then they get disability, social security and what not, when they never, ever paid.

Before you go shooting off your mouth, do some research. Some advice, don't let others do your thinking for you. Not your parents, relatives, friends or politicians (especially them). Use your own brain. Use common sense. That comes with life experience.

Perhaps you are just looking at one side of the equation.
We did not steal this land from anybody. Any country in the world has been defined by and advanced by the people who colonized and contributed to its advancement. When a country is defined as such and has laws, they must be respected by its citizens and those who come to live in it. While this is a"country of immigrants" it is so of "legal " immigrants who are willing to live under and respect its laws and contribute to support it. The same way you must accept the rules your parents have in their home, as long as you live under their roof.

As for thinking this government should let everybody in, sounds good but, not feasible. How would you like me and 20 other neighbors to show up at your house, uninvited, in total disregard of your circumstances and try to share, whatever you have because we are willing to clean the kitchen and fix the roof for a lower fee, but use your medical services, schools, police, fire Dept etc...if you have a friend or anybody you know who can do the same without costing you more than the actual fee, which he will not be sending to someone else’s house?

Do you realize that if you are 13 and going to school, the taxpayers of this country have paid for the school you go to, the lunch you are getting, the medical services you need and the money your parents earn as illegals is mostly sent back to assist the income of another country not ours? Do you believe that their government is not exploiting them by not providing the job and means of a decent living, in their own land? They instead got read of them and you, and in exchange get you guys still send money back?

Blood has nothing to do with it, attitude and law abiding immigrants have everything to do with it. Unfortunately some people benefit from the situation: the law breakers who give out the jobs and exploit the workers and the taxpayers and the governments that allow it on both sides.

Believe me it does not help me to pay $5 an hour to fix a garden if my taxes go up to get more teachers and schools or my medical costs go up because more people do not cover theirs and our wait for emergency services is now 5 hours instead of 1 or 2. Look at our side and maybe you will begin to understand.

I won't even go into any of the many reasons why this could never be. And no, we did not steal this land from anyone. We fought for it and won it in many cases. In other cases we bought it (Louisiana purchase, Alaska purchased from Russia, etc.).

You don't seem to understand that American "blood" is only a concept. When you live in a country for most of your life you gain the culture of that country and hence become Americanized.

But I don't want to discourage you because for someone your age to come up with ideas like this, that require a lot of thought and study, it is really commendable. I hope that you will continue.

Every one on this continent has ancestors from some where else. The first immigrants could of possibly been from Europe or Africa , and not Asia like once thought. While it is believe it is important to learn the origins or our ancestors, to use it in a discussion of modern day politics, doctrines , and to dispute territory is a symptom ignorance, desperation, or racial fervor.

The Southern U.S. was onec part of Mexico, the desicion to join the United States of America, was done by the people that lived in this region. After the end of the War the United States decided not to annex Mexico if they agreed to let them purchase the land in dispute. America did this so there would be a closer to the war, and a end to the bloodshed. Mexico agreed and the land was sold to The United States.

This was a done deal, but certain individuals are using long buried emmotions to bring hatred to America. Their reason for doing this is to gain power and status , they preach lies, and deliver hatred and discontent amoung the Mexican citizens. The only way for you to know the truth is to do research and read about the past history of this country.

well for starters there are no native Americans, they came form Asia across a land bridge between Alaska and Russia. what land did we steal from Mexico? Texas was annexed by the USA at the request of the republic of Texas which won it's independence from Mexico and was it's own sovereign nation. at the end of the Mexican American war the government of Mexico ceded land to the USA and received money from them also. and lastly the Gadsden purchase was land the USA bought from Mexico to complete what is the lower 48 states as we know them now.
as for stealing land from the Indians? well they never owned it so we couldn't have stolen it. we took possession of the land that was here.
yes it is very true that everyone living in the United States either came her from Europe,Africa, or Asia( everyone not just black, white, and Asians) but during the great immigration period of this country it was done legally or they were deported. as for the early colonists they to came here legally by permission of the king or queen of there home country.
so if Mexicans who are descendants of people from Europe and Asia want to come here do it legally. same for people of any country.
my ancestors come from Europe, places like Ireland, Scotland, wales, and Germany, but i am as native as a direct descendant of sitting bull or Geronimo. there ancestor have only been here longer.

yes there was a mexican american war open a book and read it, or since your on the computer online do a search and find out for your self.

You sound extremely ignorant. Illegal immigrants are flooding our borders, NOT paying taxes, not getting car insurance. etc. Maybe you're too young to truly understand the destruction they are causing to our country. Did I rape this land?? Did I steal it from the Native Americans? NO! A bunch of people back in the day did that, so STOP blaming all of present America.
You still want to let them all in? Sure, all the immigrants can just pour in here, what the hell, I guess they'll start taking all the jobs that nobody else wants anyway, right? Well guess what. There are plenty of AMERICANS who need jobs, but can't, because stupid illegal immigrants are taking them. I say SHIP THEM OUT! If you want to play host to millions of people who refuse to pay taxes, YOU go ahead. But my *** is not going to be nice to them or condone their behavior anymore.
