Good question. I've always said that if I were a deity, I'd have much more respect for the people who carried on with what I gave them, rather than bugging me with more requests every Sunday (never mind claiming to speak on my behalf).

He doesn't need our worship or profound respect any more than we need the respect of our children. That is a natural result as people learn of His character and attributes.

His motivation for preparing this earth with the conditions it has was because we are literally His children and He wants to help us reach our divine potential.

Agreed, as David put it in Psalm 8...

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?

THAT is why it is called the Good News...

Romans 5
For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Because he loves us, and when he sent Jesus to die on the cross to save us from our sins he freed us. we are in deep love with him, and there's no way we'd ever be close to thanking him for what he did for us so we praise him. Oh, and not all of us are weak and pathetic. We are just not perfect, and not powerful.

Humans are not pathetic and weak. Just because there is NO god, so to speak, does not mean we should insult ourselves. Just look at all of our accomplishments. Be patient, we will figure it all out.

That's pretty sad of you to say. I'm a christian, I do NOT consider myself pathetic or weak. Some of the greatest, most powerful people in American worship God. Buy a Bible- read it- get educated.
