Hello,
I will be transfering in the spring to a four year university. I need some advice from people who have had to work full time, and had a full time course load at college. Can it be done? I have to work full time as i have no parents to help me. I'm a little apprehensive because i'll be out there on my own. I know this is what i want, i just dont know if i can handle it mentally after the death of my mom and all the mental strain that brings. Can anyone give me a little advice?

Yes, it can be done. If you can find work close to home, and live close to campus, it will make things easier. And to help you along the way, dedicate your studies to your mom, so when things start getting rocky, you can remember her, and know how proud she is of what you are doing, and knowing that you are fulfilling her dreams for you.
Best of luck to you.

It can be done, but it's a strain. You won't have time for anything like a social life, as you'll be studying or working or sleeping. Depending on the classes you take, it may be even tougher.

I'd recommend you take classes half-time the first semester, and then decide if you can go full-time in the next semester. If you have to work for a living to support yourself, taking classes full-time may affect your quality of work. Working full time WILL affect your classwork if you go full-time. IMHO, you'd be better to work your way up to that workload, rather than jump in with both feet, and land over your head in both areas.

Geez, that sounds tough! Have you considered working full time and taking a smaller load? My brother-in-law tried this some years ago and finally flunked out of school. He is intelligent, but it simply was too much. Unless you're a very intelligent, organized, focused individual, you may have a tough time. Your health is also important. But whatever you choose, God bless your efforts!
