Is life random coincidences or does it all have a purpose?

I think that we do make a plan before we come here but life is coincidences not fate.

I sometimes think that we see coincidences more often, when we are living our life on purpose. (meaning to be on our true path).

Although....I suppose if we did not find our purpose in this life and just floated along with the breeze, we'd still see some coincidences here and there, and everything would still work out for the best.

No, I don't believe in fate or that life has any particular purpose or universal meaning. I don't believe everything is "random" either. There's certainly cause and effect. Sometimes actions you and others make have the potential to greatly affect some things in the future. I just don't feel the need to extend that idea into metaphysical notions. Any "purpose" is one that the individual has to make for himself or herself.

When you think about it, what's the difference between coincidence and fate?

It's a story that was written long before our birth, no matter what you choose to call it.

Cause and effect all the way! There is no such thing as "free will." It is impossible for anyone to recognize and analyze the multitude of influences that affect a decision (e.g., environmental, biological, social, religious, etc., etc., etc.). Unless you recognize all the influences that affect your decisions and the impact of each of those influences, separately and together, you cannot exercise "free will." In other words, if you are not aware that something is influencing your decision and you are not aware of how that something is influencing your decision, then how can you say you are exercising "free will."

I don't believe in fate, I think we guide our own life. I think we do have tasks to accomplish and I believe in synchronicity (not the song by the Police!)...

Have a good night, I am going to bed on that one...take care! Love to you!

i believe we choose our own destiny, but that many things happen for a reason.(a few too many coincedences to be random)

for example, a person could go poor, from there they either get a job and make the most of their sit, or give up.

what was the reason? i dont know.

My sweet woman... you are correct.. Perhaps coincidences can also have purposes... yet not necessarily be fate...

Ultimately... it is what we make of it (life)...

It is not a dichotomy. Evolution by natural selection is not random. Another thing; random means, " in no set numerical order ".
