Away in a manger, no crib for His bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head;
The stars in the sky looked down where He lay,
The little Lord Jesus, asleep in the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the poor Baby wakes.
But little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes.
I love thee, Lord Jesus, look down from the sky.
And stay by the cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay,
Close by me forever, and love me, I pray!
Bless all the dear children in Thy tender care
And take us to heaven, to Live with Thee there

Tah Dah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have found that reading the Bible can be dry and have felt guilt over it myself.
It is because of the way the Bible is presented. It was written so long ago, and even when it was translated, it still can be a little hard to digest.

In most churches they do sing the bible to people: They sing hymns, many of which are bible verses being sung. For some reason, when I hear hymns in church, they almost bring me to tears because I actually feel something.
I purchased some CDs that were christian (Stop looking at me like that..) and I secretly listen to them in my car and I get very strong feelings and end up praying a lot more.

That's natural I think. Music resonates in us on a deeper level than the spoken or written word. I think it's something about the beat,or tones, and our subconscience. The emotions will come when it (the Bible) begins to really mean something in your life. Instead of just choosing a chapter to read, look up verses that pertain to something that is going on in your life right now and read those. Good luck and Blessings!

Good Question

1 Samuel 16:23 (NIV)
Whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take his harp and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.

Your case is similar to that of Sauls in the Bible. The devil didnt want Saul to hear the words from God and it would require music to drive out the evil spirit. I'm praying right now that if there is any evil spirit in you that he would come out right now in Jesus name. Now the next time you read the bible you will have a great feeling come over you.

You love to look at art to don't you? Do you find an emotional response when you read the Song of Solomon or the Psalms of David?
There is a Bible that is read by a man named Max McLean you might find his voice and inflections pleasing. There are many who do.

Levitcus 19:9-10, is a scripture that touch me deeply. Not everything in the Holy Bible touches me. As a matter of fact, most of it does not like the above mentioned scripture. There are many gems in the bible. and you have to dig for them the way you would for gold and prescious stones. If God see's you looking, he will bless you for it.
You know I was just remembering. Once I was reading his word. I remember that I kept doing this from day to day. Then one day, suddenly, I felt an overwhelming realization of how real God is. it was a beautiful feeling.
Here is that scripture i quoted above. think about it.
“‘And when YOU people reap the harvest of YOUR land, you must not reap the edge of your field completely, and the gleaning of your harvest you must not pick up.  Also, you must not gather the leftovers of your vineyard, and you must not pick up the scattered grapes of your vineyard. For the afflicted one and the alien resident you should leave them. I am Jehovah YOUR God".
This shows how God cares for those who do not have the means to support themselves because of circumstances out of their control. And to me this is just pure love.

Music and the words are exactly what you said - emotional. When reading the Bible, you don't want an emotional response, you want a truthful response. Now, you can very well experience varying emotions when having a real encounter with God's Word, but don't get caught up in emotion, get caught up in truth.

You can try listening to an audio Bible?
The Bible is telling you absolute truth and that in itself can be emotional, all of Gods promises.
Before you read you Bible, ask God to give you wisdom and understanding of His Word...

Because the truth of the Bible is not emotionalism. It's not some temporary thing to get you feeling high on life. It's absolute truth and it goes deeper than that.

Try reading the Psalms.
Most of them are actually lyrics to Hebrews music and hymns.
Depending on how creative you are, you can make up your own melody and make them come to life.
Or, better yet, see if some of them are still sung in local temples.
