So my crush and me are pretty good friends and hang out 1 on 1 pretty often. Today we went to a movie followed by dinner. At dinner, she scooted her feet on top of mine and sort of pushed down and wiggled them around. I responded accordingly and then she got up to get a drink. When she returned she just sat down and I rubbed my foot against hers and she was like, "Was that your foot?". I nodded. "Are you playing footsies?". I nodded again. She just laughed and sort of moved her feet away. This isn't the first time she's done something like this. Like I'll bump her completely on accident and she'll be like, "Are you aware that your leg just touched mine?". I don't think she's the type that plays games... but what the heck is going on here?

Therefore she apparently attempts to trigger a more physical relationship with suggestions that can be thought of as jokes. It's a basic trick for a particular kind of individual, in fact one girl at shcool did it to me when i was 8 years old (yes... 8 like her).
It's perhaps only because your girlfriend fears to be pushed away and to be judged if for some reason you don't love her at the same level as she loves you.

I'll tell you exactly what's going on. My boyfriend can make decisions for us to have a few drinks, go out, hang out with other people, whatever it is. But the moment I decide I want to have a few drinks, I'd like to go out, I want to socialize, he is saying that it will start a fight if I drink, whatever it is I want to do that he usually suggests, he says no. It is a control factor, seeing how much you will take and when you will break. How far she can push you, toy with you, control you. This does not indicate a bad person, my boyfriend is so sweet, but some people that have a lack of control in other areas of their life, tend to find comfort by controlling the personal space. If I am overly affectionate (according to him) I am smothering. There was a time when he was that way, but now that he has me, it is up to him when it is time to schmooze. I would lay some boundaries down, spoken and unspoken. Don't let yourself be her night out, her nothing else to do, stand up and be forward, not overly but mention that you feel a little mislead or confused by what is actually the situation between you two. Make clear your intentions, your feelings. A big mistake men make is not saying how they feel and either a girl will be hurt by this or assume you are just a push over. Be yourself, don't be what anyone else wants you to be. I am trying to get strong enough to do this myself.

Maybe in the first situation, she didn't know that she was pressing down on your feet. Maybe she's being a tease. Maybe she was joking. Why would you rub your feet with hers?! Kinda odd don't you think?
