The first article is about the so called "Christian Civic League" and how they ran a smear campaign against a politician because they found out that her religion was Pagan. The part that bothers me, is that they invite people to post comments on their website. They state that e-mail addy is required but will not be published, yet if you look at their comments section, they DO publish the e-mail addy's of anyone who disagrees with the site. Is it right for them to lie this way. They scrubbed the comments off the article harassing the Pagan Politician, but the second article about a "Dyke Parade" has a comments section also. Those who oppose the Dyke parade have their privacy respected, those who support the Dyke parade have their e-mail addy published. I added comment #12 just a few miniutes ago w/a fake addy. I wonder if they will publish my fake addy ?

Memory -- I did b---- at them.
Gamma Ray -- What does my avatar have to do with anything.

Here is a blurb from their "policies"

http://cclmaine.org/publicpolicies.htm

quote from their site"
We believe it to be of central importance that the ethical values of the Judeo-Christian heritage be fostered and encouraged in the life of our nation’s leading institutions, including government, business, education and the Church. These values represent such personal virtues as compassion, honesty, purity, courage and fidelity."

I guess they need to look up the word "honest" in the dictinary.

Kikisnooper, I checed the site again, I am still there as #12, but I expect they will soon scrub it off, when they realize I gave a fake address. (I do NOT want my address published on their website, and they can NOT be trusted not to do so)

Yup, they scrubbed my comment off, since they couldn't publish my e-mail to encourage their supporters to harass me. I was thinking about setting up another e-mail acct. just to see how much harassement their supporters would dish out, but I was afraid that would send a virus to me. Also, other bloggers that have had their privacy violated, in direct contradiction to their statement, they have also had their comments edited, to make it look like they said worse things. I guess these people don't take the commandment to "not bear false witness against they neighbor seriously". Perhaps someone should look into their tax exempt status. It is a violation of the tax code for tax exempts to lobby on behalf or against a politician.
Perhaps whoever is hosting their website should be informed of their breach of contract and fraud as well.

People are intolerant. I asked a valid question about the lack of international concern about the massacres against Chechens, the creation of refugee situations, torture of prisoners, etc. People are very indifferent. Do they care about Iraqi refugees? No, apparently 9/11 gives America the right to do what it does. Really? For 3,000 people it is necessary to kill 120,000 and create 4 million refugees and they deserve this because of what happened in New York, which was a terrible thing, but it also has affected the British with 7/7 and what bombings in Istanbul, Madrid, Athens and other places? Why don't these people matter? Americans are the most self-absorbed people in the world. Do Americans think they are special? What about the French, the Dutch and the British? Is it any less to them? Also, why don't people care about the Christians of East Timor, Azerbaijanis and what happened to Circassians and Armenians?

It is a common mistake to believe that Christians are unconditionally benevolent to all people. In recent times, the Christians have not approached the barbarism of Islam but I think that it is not beyond possibility for Christians to go back to burning unbelievers at the stake. All it would take would for enough of them achieve enough political power.

It's okay, I got back at one of our local fundie self-righteous types. She was running for city council and we went to hear a debate. I'd only lived here a few months and I knew more about the issues than she did. I took one of her pamphlets and drew horns on her and did other rude things to her picture and left it there. Later her campaign was whining about the hateful response she was getting from the public... well, when you're a one-issue candidate and know nothing about city affairs what do you expect?

Christian organizations are a human organization, thus prone to flaws. We must not confuse the human Church with salvation of our eternal souls. I love Jesus because when I pray to him when I feel really sad, he lifts my spirits and I feel like I can get on with things. He really hears you, and if you haven't tried praying to him, well then you don't know what you're missing. He really loves us all.

Be blessed.

No, a christian organization should be very careful about how they behave or they will cause good people to turn against the word of God and all it stands for.

The fact that's it's a Christain organisation doesn't bother me as much as your right to privacy being violated.

if you want an answer to your question - read your bible - you got it right when you said "so called".

and because this is a free country, people can say some pretty offensive things...

Nope it is not the way a christian organization should behave, and I will leave it at that.
