Males are usually thought of as more aggressive then females and that is generally the rule. I am not sure that it is true aggression that they exhibit though. They are "harder" then a female and that is what I think people confuse as aggression. Active aggression can be manifested by either sex and I have seen it with both. People, as usual, keep blaming the owner or socialization for what they believe to be aggression. Aggression is a genetic trait that some dogs are born with and that manifests its self with the right experiences. What people here call aggression is, for the most part weakness of the nerves that causes dogs to appear aggressive, but, in reality are just being defensive or insecure. Make sure you make a wise choice if you are planning on getting a shepherd because good ones are hard to find and they cost crazy money. I hope I helped.
ADD: How did you come up with the statements you are making above? Where did you hear that this sex is more aggressive then the other in the dogs you mention?
I swear, this is getting worse and worse by the day. Too many "experts" here lately.

Breeding plays a lot into temperament. In general, un-neutered males tend to be more aggressive. I did have one female shepherd that was incredibly aggressive. We ended up giving her to a guard dog place for use as a guard dog. Neutering males can go a long way to cutting aggresion. A well socialized dog that gets plenty of exercise and discipline will most likely be non aggressive.

Aggressiveness can be a matter of breeding, or socialization. I have noticed that a lot of times it depends on the situation. Males tend to be more territorial and will defend their "space", but females can be very protective of their owners or their children. Any dog the size of a German Shepard can be dangerous if something causes their agression. Please make sure the dog is taken to obedience classes.

Aggressiveness is not gender specific. I had a female that never backed down from anything including my male. Males are usually preferred for their size and strength but both can be equally aggressive. It really depends where you get the dog from and what you want it for. Also, training and socialization play a factor in their temperament.

For most dogs, the males are the most aggresive. They tend to pick fights with other males, like proving thier worth or rank. That's why they mostley mark their territory. If you would want a male, but make it less aggressive, you could get it neutered.

Either can be aggressive. I've had both male and female German Shepherds and have found that males tend to be more protective of me. :)

I think the males because the male are not afraid to attack any one but not all male shepards are like that some can be shy some does not like to hurt people so you should at least give the males a chance.

It depends on how they're raised. I really haven't seen a difference between males and females, and we raised German Shepherd pups a few years back.
