From a theological point of view, no. God said not to eat of the forbidden fruit, regardless of what kind of fruit that might have been.

From a feminist point of view, I'm predisposed to think that Adam was actually the one at fault, and Eve just got blamed for it.

And personally, I think the point is moot. After all, it's just a story. Pure fiction created for the purpose of A) entertaining, and B) teaching a lesson, as all stories are meant to do, regardless of whether or not faith is involved.

Funny question, though. Props for creativity. ^^

Only if God had told her not to pick mangos.

The point is that Adam & Eve ate from the tree of knowledge. It really doesn't matter WHAT the fruit was (I mean, it wasn't a freakin' apple, since those didn't exist in the middle-east where the bible was written) - just that the fruit was from that particular tree.

It wasn't the type of fruit. If God's order was obeyed we would still be in the Garden of Eden, but it wasn't obeyed.

no...because if eve would have not picked up the fruit of the forbidden tree, god would have put the fruit in front of them...he put the tree there becasue he wanted them to pick the fruit...or else why all the drama??? if you dont want your children to drink bleach you dont pour it into their orange juice bottle or you just put the bleach where they cannot reach it.

Remember the problem in the Garden of Eden was not the apple in the tree, it was the pair on the ground.

Na... we wouldn't be here to ask the question.

her eating that "apple" was the best thing that could have ever happened to us. they got kicked out of Eden & magically appeared in a place w/ some genetic diversity.

had she not, we would have died off a long time ago from incest. the sepent was clearly looking out for our best interests.

Actually, some scholars believe it was a fig and not an apple.
Also the bible does not say apple, it says fruit! And if they sew fig leaves together for clothing, doesn't it make more sense that is was a fig?
