In big situations yes. But in small situations no. Like if you were doing a test and you did not know the answer it will only drop your grade down a little, so it won't really hurt you. But if you do not know how to turn off a bomb and it's about to explode, than it is a problem. It basically depends on the situation!

Nope...it can for sure hurt you! You significant other has an affair, but he never tells you and all goes on as per normal. You think you have a great marriage. Until you go to the doctors due to a weird burning when you pee...and you have an STD. You didn't know.

At some point, it will hurt you. Also, you will suffer twice, the hurt of whatever was being kept from you, and the embarrassment of being the last to know.

It hurts to not know but then again, it hurts to know the truth. So it's going to hurt either way, in my opinion.

If some detonates a nuclear bomb on the east coast, and the radiation drifts over to you and you have deformed children, did what you didn't know not hurt you?

No. Example: During the Victorian era, people didn't know that lead and arsenic were dangerous and so both were used in paint and wallpaper, among other things, causing physical and mental problems for themselves and their children.

It won't hurt at all, but when you find out-- and you always do eventually, it will make you feel like you've been kicked in the gut.
