well, it kind of depends on what is causing the itch. Insect bites respond well to a slice of raw onion rubbed on the bite.
If you have crabs on the other hand you need a doctor's treatment. If jock itch is the problem, there are creams available at your drug store for that specific purpose. If it is dry skin a bath in colloidal oatmeal will help alot, Aveeno makes a bath powder of colloidal oatmeal that works very well. for just some itch on your arm or something, just use some hand lotion on it. it's probably just dry or something. for a misquito bite, take some baking soda and add a little water to make a paste. then apply it to the bite, and let it dry and flake off by itself. DON'T MOVE YOUR ARM WHEN LETTING IT DRY! it'll suck out the poison and it'll be all better. but if u take it off too soon, then you'll still have an itch. hope this helps!

Calamine Lotion is good. Also, if it is chronic, you may want to consider an Antihistamine med like Benadryl. Good luck!
