without tablets there are a few options, firstly your diet, do not eat any junk food at all, just fruits and vegetables, chicken and high quality meats no fat, definately no fizzy drinks at all.
only natural fruit juices. A really high quality Vitiam B for a short time only 1month. Then change to a multi vitiam. increase the vitiman c to 1000Mg a day. focus on a long term goal setting plan, ie the things that you want to do in the future. as you achieve your goals cross them off your list. go out more, focus on the solutions for your problems not the problem its self. wow hope this helps and I wish you well in your future successes , it will get better

Your depression could be due to a health issue so go have a physical that includes thyroid functioning. You need to rule out a physical cause.
Counseling actually works for depression. Call your local mental health center and request an appointment, usually on an ability-to-pay sliding-fee-scale. You will need to be totally honest in areas of your entire life including your relationship with the boyfriend and parents, etc.
I understand you do not want to take medication but some times medication is necessary as your progress through counseling. There is no reason to be embarassed if you need medication to aid you in solving what you describe as depression.
I did years ago for a short time and glad I did.

You can't just "fix" depression.
Depending on how bad the depression is, pills may be the only option for you.
Therapy helps a lot and is better in the long run because you can take things you've learned from therapy and use them in the future if needed.
See your doctor asap. He/she will know more about what your options are. It's better to make this before it gets really bad. It will be harder to treat once it gets too bad.
Good luck!

I've been there. I know that when I'm working out every day at the gym, my serotonin levels go up and I feel a lot better about life. So, add some sweat generating exercise to your relationship - healthy exercise. If that doesn't help, go see your doctor. There are no happy pills but there are things that can prevent you from slipping into the pit of despair. norgus9@yahoo.com if you want to talk more about depression.

Prayer is an excellent start.
Aaron Beck says that depression is built on false beliefs that we keep in our minds.
There are three main areas of false beliefs that we hold that make us depressed.
1. About ourselves that we are hopeless and bad things are always going to happen to us etc.
2.About others in our lives, that they will never love us enough, or respect us or...
3. About the world. That the world is a bad place and it will never change and has no hope.
If we can stop these negative cognitions and believe truths like"today was just a bad day" or "sometimes you just can
't please everyone" or "there are lots of good things in the world and good people too" we can stop depression from taking over our lives.

Prayer or a written daily notebook would help . Be honest. You are making your brain upset with false beliefs and then when they are erased you make the beliefs again. The depression chemical is from erasing beliefs and it is dumped into the spinal fluid where it travels to the auto brain causing auto depression.

Exercise is good. Taking up any new interest is good. Counselling works (see above answer). Happy pills work if you're giving serious consideration to topping yourself.
Whatever you do, DON'T GET RELIGION!!!!! Especially not Scientology.

depression just doesn't fix itself. you need to get professional help if it has been lasting a long time. if not, then it may just be a period of sadness that will pass by itself. talk therapy helps some people.

i find it helpful to keep a journal. write down something you are thankful for everyday, including the small stuff we take for granted. for instance it was 95 degrees here today and i am so thankful for air conditioning! be around joyful people, do something nice for someone. do something nice for yourself. if all else fails see a doctor.
