How is porterville? Is real estate expensive, is there alot to do, are schools safe and good???

I heard that there is tons of mostly old people there, is that true?

The real estate isn't bad in Porterville, in fact it's kind of cheap. Now that really isn't a good thing, mean no one wants to live there. There is nothing to do outside of outdoor activities, and you are far enough from a major airport to make you almost not want to fly (about 4-5 hours). It's an old farming community, however you are right next to the mountains. It's beautiful country to the north and east. Some of the best in the nation. I guess that has to count for something.

Porterville is mainly a Hispanic ag community but does have decent transportation options. The town is nearer to Fresno than to Sacramento and is served by Orange Belt Stages and FCRTA transit.

It is a small town. Not much happening there. Real estate in California is expensive no matter where you are.
