My husband constantly complains that he has had a bad dream. During his sleep, he is sometimes very restlest with his legs moving and he gets jerks.
Sometimes (4 out of 7 days), when he wakes up, he describes that he has had a bad dream and he can describe it very clearly which means that he was actually totally involved in the dream.
Sometimes, he dreams about God and in the morning he is awake with good feeling but still its about 'the dream'.

How do I cure this thing for him? Is there any medicine or psychological treatment which can be given to him?

I keep telling him not to focus so much on 'dreams' and just 'ignore it'. Or just think good thoughts before sleeping (to which he replies that he does not think bad thoughts before sleeping).

Please help me how do I help my husband cure the above.

Thanks for all replies. It will be a great help!

He should exercise in the evenings, so when he goes to bed he is really tired and sleeps deeply and restfully.

Serene, I wish I could help you, but the problem is that sometimes people wrestless sleep is because God is dealing with them about issues in their life. When you are not doing what the Lord wants you to do, it causes the peace to be taken away from your life. That's why your husband feels good when he has dreams about God, because God is working on him. God speaks to people through dreams. That's why it's so hard to forget them (not all dreams). This goes for everyone else as well, whether they believe it or not. The only real cure for anyone who is going through what your husband is going through is a solid relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I have had many dreams from the Lord over the years, good and bad and they all have to do with our relationship with God.

Nightmares are sometimes the body's way to wake you up because you are in a bad position and you might be cutting off circulation to some part of the body. Maybe he has sleep apnea and this is his body's way of waking him up? He should talk with a medical doctor first. He or she will be able to decide whether he should see a psychologist, get a sleep test, or be put on meds for restless leg syndrome.
