could it be that because humans have always been selfish, that it was a way to "make" people believe in doing the right thing, that thats just what it took for us to get our head out of our a.ss. there are many things in the bible that just dont make sense, maybe it did back then. but every person that wrote the bible was human too, werent they? after all, nobody is perfect, so why were they? why does it have to be all or nothing?

To be honest the entire bible is correct, But thanks to the Catholics Church and its Popes that said that they had God permission to do so... Removed pages, chapters and entire book from the bible are the one who have caused the bible to appear with inconsistencies as it some times can... I t was Constantine and other popes that tries to make them-self as powerful as God And the Catholic Church as the only way to contact God. But they failed miserable to do so.. But made it more difficult for us to read the bible with total consistency.... And it is also a matter of written history that proves that the Catholic Church and its Popes did just as I stated in the above writing......................................

NO body in the bible was perfect, except for jesus,because he was suppose to be a living example of how people should live their lives... he was perfect he could see ur sins, and he knew ... he just knew... but he lived the way we humans should live...alll of the bible is correct DONT ever ever question the bible, i dont... back then ther reason why god worked in the way he did with miraclous things was because he wanted the unbeliever, and the believer to see the power and the majesty that he has, and what he can do for u if u just obey him and his commandments... this was before there was a bible so he had to work in mysterious was in which was through dreams, visions, and sometimes verbally... and because of that we have the bible for inspiration... a lot of things that happend in the bible that seemed un real, like a time when there was a talking donkey, or when god took a man to heaven and did not let him experience death... these people were not perfect but they suffered in the name of the lord... and because of that the lord was proud and took him up to heaven .... this is fair and just because there he showed how powerful he is, and the rewardings that u get for being a good and faithful survent....

Yes it is a reasonable idea that there are potential "flaws" within it. If you search carefully enough, you would even come across references to other passages of scripture that do not exist in the Bible. Here's a sampling:

- Num. 21: 14
book of the wars of the Lord.

- 2 Chr. 9: 29
book of Nathan the prophet.

- 2 Chr. 12: 15
book of Shemaiah the prophet.

- Col. 4: 16
read the epistle from Laodicea.

- Jude 1: 14
Enoch also . . . prophesied of these.

Also, if we looked at the New Testament, why is the current version seemingly halfway filled with Paul, formerly Saul, and his writings, when we know that there were 12 other apostles who were around working for Christ before and after the cross? Shouldn't we have a more "balanced" view by having a roughly equal amount of scripture from each apostle, rather than it being so lop-sided towards one? And it was an apostle who was not even part of the original Twelve!

But we can say about this concerning scripture. If there were to be a true way to "repair" such errors, it would have to be done by divine means and must be done with a living prophet. What's interesting is that there is a recorded account where such a thing happened. It's the main storyline in Jeremiah chapter 36. Here is the chapter summary:

Baruch writes the prophecies of Jeremiah and reads them in the house of the Lord—Jehoiakim the king burns the book, and judgment comes upon him—Jeremiah dictates the prophecies again and adds many more.

So if I were to be a Christian who wants to be observant, I would be on the lookout for a denomination that would have living prophets and apostles who have the demonstrated ability to receive and record advice, warnings, and other revelations from God, so that the principles and doctrines that were lost due to centuries of editing of the Bible by non-prophets and non-apostles could be restored.

Remember, the early Christians had it tough, because they were "going away from an established religion", which was several forms of Judaism. People today may have to do the same to follow their conscience, by "going away from an established religion" of Catholism, Protestant, Bhuddism, Islam, Judaism, or even atheism, to find a religion that has living prophets and apostles, much like the early Christian Church, and is subject to current revelations. The core principles that are still left in the Bible, such as Jesus Christ must be our cornerstone for ourselves and whatever church we belong to, are still good core principles. But things that are missing or need explanation, that is what we each must find, possibly with help from living prophets and apostles.

Thanks for letting me share my two cents'. May I wish you well and continue to strive towards Christ. He and His representatives will show you the way back to Heavenly Home.

Sincerely,
Alvin R.

It all depends on your religion. I am assuming you are a Christian, but there are so many classifications of that religion. I am a Roman Catholic, so I believe it straight from the beginning. Different groups believe differently, even about the bible. It all started with Catechism, but the other groups like Protestants, Lutherans, etc. branched off of that. It is true that humans wrote the Bible, but the true author was God. Atleast that is what I believe. Nothing happens without God's knowing, and if us humans were writing his book wrong, I'm sure he would correct it.

Is it possible all of the bible was written by channeling. It came from the mind of a man (they threw out the book of Mary). Some of it has to be close....but come on, you still have to live your life, try things, do you really want to live like those 2000 years ago. This is your chance now to experience things, decide for yourself what's right or wrong.

No, it's not possible. It's like saying that part of God is correct, but not all of Him. The Bible is the thought, mind, and will of God, not mankind. God inspired about 40 holy men over a span of about 1600 years to write the Bible about Him, His thoughts, His plan, His rules. It wasn't written to please us. It was written so that mankind all over the world and down through time would know Him and serve Him the way He deserves to be served. After all, He's the Creator or the Universe as well as everything created in it. If Donald Trump can demand service the way he wants it, why can't God?????

Undoubtedly. It's the same with any work of fiction - Sherlock Holmes, for example. Baker Street in London really does exist, but the character who's supposed to have lived there, in the stories, never existed. Similarly with the Bible, some of the events and places may have a basis in reality but the supernatural bits are obviously fiction.

The bible isn't true. The only true thing in it is that Christ existed. The bible was written 200 years after the crucifiction. It's just mainly a story. All religious teachings are like this.

There isn't a shread of evidence to prove any religion.

The Bible is simply a 'compliation of several books' and many of them are 'symbolic' and all of them have some symbolism in them. We are reading not the 'original writings' but translations of translations of translations, and there have been MANY mistakes ... but the Bible as it was originally written still has 'meaning' and is still 'the best book ever written' because it tells us a 'story' of how to be 'good enough' to go to Heaven and live with God ...

2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is given by inspiration from God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,for instruction in righteousness.
~~~~~~~~~~
Scripture tells a story, to understand this story one must start and read the beginning to the end. If a reader starts reading in the middle how can she or he understand the beginning and reach a logical conclusion at the end?
The Bible is Gods word to mankind and tells the story of mans origination's, purpose and history and even tells us how it was when God dwell ed among us (old Testament)
It is accurate as God Himself chose or approved and guided its writers.
The only flaw when it comes to the Bible is when people don't read it or fail to grasp its meaning. So, in reality the flaw is in the reader and not the book. It is the reader who needs to correct him or her self to realize the treasure in this Divinely Inspired Book.
