I have a beagle and she is the 13 inch tall kind which shouldn't really matter, but the only time she drools is when she she sees us eating food and we don't give her any. She just sits there and long strands of drool runs down her jowls. But its not that big of a deal and its cleanable. Beagles aren't really a drooling kind of dog like Rottweilers I think. BEAGLES ARE A GREAT CHOICE! Don't let a little drool change your mind. Some great characteristics of beagles are: minimal shedding, no doggy scent except for anal glands stink sometimes, awesome droopy ears, don't bark almost at all indoors (only when they see something of interest), expecting eyes, learn tricks relatively easily, and very affectionate (they love being around you). A bad thing is that sometimes they have separation anxiety because they are pack animals.

For the most part mine does not drool. The only time is if he is waiting for a treat he will start to drool. Beagles are chow hounds. Watch closely what you feed it as they can get fat in a hurry. As far as being noisy, mine is not bad. When he does howl it is pretty loud. But of my three dogs he is the last one to bark and most times he doesn’t join the other two.
Beagles are great dogs. I put mine right there with my American Pit Bull Terrier as the two best dogs I have ever had, along with all the mutts.
Enjoy your new puppy.

Beagles do not drool, have doggy odor but shedding is minimal. One of the love-able characteristics is its long droopy ears. Sometimes when the beagle runs it can fall over its ears. Beagles considered one of the oldest breeds in history. The beagle is bred primarily for rabbit hunting. The beagle is popular, small, and pack oriented. It is also extremely intelligent, good-natured, and steady tempered.

No they are a dry mouth breed. A little info on a beagle they are little but don't let that fool you they have a strong prey drive and are excellent hunting dogs with one of the most acute sense of smell. They are a big hound dog in a small body. The have a couple down sides they are can be rather obnoxious and they are loud and vocal with the hound dog sound.

Any dog can slobber, just some more than others. Word of caution about beagles. While very loving animals, they are very high energy and require a great deal of protected space to burn off that energy.

Basset hounds drool and some other larger hounds also drool. Beagles do not. BUT, beagles sometimes howl. They are pack animals and hunters with good sniffers. They can track scents and sometimes be mischievous, but are SUCH great dogs.

I have Bloodhounds. Even mine have pretty dry mouths. Beagles are a lot better.

any dog CAN slobber, it depends on the dog, not exactly the breed.
