You will probably not make any profit off of the puppies. Take into account all the money you will spend on their care. What if there are proplems with mom during delivery? An emergency c-section is not cheap. What if the puppies do not survive the c-section? What if they do and she doesn't take care of them? Then you will have to hand raise them. Hand feeding is not cheap and it is a lot of work. Then there are vet bills on the puppies. What if one gets sick? Then you have to worm them and get their shots. And lets say everything goes well and you do sell the puppies. What if one gets sick shortly after being sold and that person sues you? Trust me, it does happen. And, take into account, you have to have all the money up front for emergencies and don't get money for puppies until they are ready to go. Don't think about taking deposits on puppies, because you will have to pay all that back if something goes wrong. So, how much can you make off yorkie puppies? I wouldn't want to be the one that takes the risk of losing all that money. You should have spent the money to get her fixed in the first place instead of asking how much you can make.

Not much, unless the parents are AKC Champions and have undergone all of the requisite genetic testing and health clearances. Otherwise, they are just badly bred, genetic timebombs from a backyard breeder.
Good luck selling them to the uneducated pet buyer.
Your puppies represent greed feeding off ignorance.
Here are some suggested questions one can use to determine if a breeder is truly responsible:
1. Is she an AKC registered breeder of good standing and an active member of her breed Parent Club?
2. Are there AKC Champions listed on the pedigree, showing that the breeder spends her time & money to prove the quality of her breeding stock through competition?
3. Are all the animals kept in clean, comfortable, healthy, loving circumstances?
4. Did the breeder conduct extensive interviews with you and every member of your family?
5. Have the sire & dam received all available health clearances, (eg. OFA Hip & Eye, Thyroid testing, THESE VARY FOR EACH BREED)
6. Is she willing to honestly discuss any possible genetic defects that may exist in her line?
7. Does she have a Sales Contract?
8. Does the contract contain a clause stipulating that you spay or neuter the puppy before it reaches a certain
age?
9. Does the contract contain a clause stating that if at any time in the puppy's life, you can no longer care for it, it must be returned to the breeder? (This ensures that no animal bred by this breeder will ever end up in a shelter).
10. Will the breeder maintain contact with you for the life of the puppy to answer questions and help in general?

Why do you want to know? So you can exploit them for money instead of getting off your butt and working for a living?! So you can condemn them to a life of misery because you wanted some extra bucks? Yes, and I'm sure a "well-educated and responsible breeder" like you knows all about genetics, will keep all puppies not going to good home, and would NEVER sell the puppies to anyone without getting information on them and making followup visits to ensure a good "fit" for both the adopters and the puppy. I know someone who has bothered to take the time to educate herself will make the effort to do so! Oh yeah, right.
"K" is absolutely right. You haven't a clue. And once your dog has the puppies, get her spayed as soon as your vet advises it is safe. And do NOT stand out in front of a grocery store and hand the puppies to anyone who coos "oh how cute" or poses as a 'nice family.' Nor should you advertise in the paper. Those puppies will undoubtedly end up being sold as bait to be torn apart for training fighting dogs. The other alternative is for them to be sold to a lab for experimentation. They will endure horrifying pain without anesthesia for months on end until they mercifully die. Compared to those two common fates, euthanasia at an animal shelter is kind! And unfortunately, a lot of animals go through that as well. In my county alone there are four animal shelters that receive 33 dogs EACH DAY. That's 132 dogs daily. And this flow of dogs coming in never stops, not for weekends or holidays or anything. That's why most shelters are forced to put the dogs to death almost as fast as they come in. There simply aren't enough cages and food and homes to go around. They'd be hip-deep in them if they didn't.
And people like you are the ones who are creating this whole miserable problem.

Hopefully you will not make any money because backyard breeders like you are contributing to the pet overpopulation problem. But if you do, make sure you report any money you get as income on your state or local income taxes. Governments need our tax money to fund the goverment animal shelters that are forced to euthanize healthy unwanted animals as we speak - so called purebreds included. If you are profiting off the breeding and selling of animals, you should pay your fair share to fund the killing of them too. If you don't think this is your problem, take a walk through your local animal shelter and see the animals on death row. These are the "lucky" ones that didn't die from abuse or neglect on the streets.

These website will all be useful for you. Much of what a dog is "worth" is based on how is it raised and how well it is cared for. Raising puppies is a big commitment, which you have already entered into, so hopfully those forums will point you in the right direction. I'm sure people on a Yorkie forum would be very helpful. Good luck to you.

It depends if your dog is purebred and how far the lines go back, if it is purebred and the lines go back for countless generations and your dog has good features then those puppies will be worth a lot. People will probably pay about 2-3 thousand for that. Maybe more. If your dog is not purebred, has bad features or the lines don't go back as far as preferred then you won't get as much for the pups especially if your dog isn't purebred.

People who adopt yorksire terriers pay a pretty penny. Just take a look in the paper and do an average of all the prices you see. I'd say if your puppies are pretty well bred, you could ask for about 2 Grand for each puppy.
