'Pope' is such a sucky one to go for. He's one of the champions, and certainly one of the best qualified.

Disagree. I have actually found they like Sam Harris more. Its kinda funny, it seems like the more illogical someone is the more they are revered by the Atheists.... I mean Dawkins is one of the top scientists in the world they say but he has elementary school logic, very very poor. Harris is even less.
Personally I prefer reading Thomas Paine any day above any Atheist writers. The Atheist writers just seem to be extremely illogical. Paine has some logic, and some very poor logic, but overall he makes a much better case than I have seen in any number of Atheists combined.

If you mean in a religious context no because science doesn't rely on faith, it relies on evidence. If you mean conceptually yeah, i guess he would be.
