One of the marvels of the Catholic faith is the Confessional, no matter the Sin, no matter how often.
As Christians are all, by their own say so, born sinners, this device needs to be in place as a means of achieving the Salvation which is promised to them.
The first and largest of the organized Christian religions was the Holy Catholic Church who developed this concept. I will not get into the motivation that is the foundation for it excep;t to say that, if it works for them, so be it.
There is no one religion with more conflict and division than the breakaway group from the Holy Roman Catholics, they are called Protestants...........the root word is "protest" and they have been aptly named.

U go to Hell because U Do Not Believe in Christ Period!!! The Whole "Priest Thing" is B.S.!!! He has No "Special Powers" to do ANYTHING!!! U will remain in Sin Until U go before GOD, Not Any Man or Woman, and Confess Ur Sins Believing in Christs' Work on the Cross almost 2000 years ago for the Payment of the Penalty for the Worlds Sins (Urs Too!) Past, Present & Future!!! At that point U have become a Christian!!! As a Christian, U are a Royal Priest Answering Only to God Who ALONE WILL Forgive U when U ask Him To!!! John

I am not sure what being 'Catholic' has to do with it currently; but the lack of virginity is an indication of the loss of the 'blood covenant' with your spouse in marriage.

We are all sinners and make mistakes, one of which could be what you described. If you sincerely ask for forgiveness from the Lord, it will be given. Absolutely you can talk to your priest to help guide you to cleansing. God Bless.

I'm not Catholic, but extramarital sex is a sin and unless you repent of it and confess it may condemn you.

No, you will not go to hell, they would have had to close hell down due to overcrowding by now. If you trust your priest, yes, talk to him about it.

You confess and say whatever he says to say.
However, you are not going to hell, unless you think you are.

Only if you die before Sunday. Then, you can repent. Two seconds, and you are ready to repeat. Great, isn't it!
