The firewall is definately better than the one on XP.

Windows Defender is worse than useless.

My defenses are the trusty old favourites.

AVG 7.5
Spybot Search & Destroy
Lavasoft Adaware Personal (Not 2007 as its not good with Vista)

Overall it probably is more secure than XP owing to the much improved firewall.

But I would definately recommend you install the above software, the AVG being a must as its antivirus software.

Hope you find this helpful.

No... you will find Vista will get more Viruses just because it is a new toy for hackers to play with! And if it dose get infected, the viruses are harder to get ride of! Vista is just Windows 95 with lipstick!!!!

My personal opinion is that no antivirus program or software can save you if you are careless. Just don't open e-mail from anyone you don't know, think before you click, don't visit questionable websites.
