My black and hispanic friends call me a house ***** all the time. They told me that if I was born in the time of slavery I would snitch on all the darker skinned people. I get mad at them. I know they don't mean it they just try to push my buttons. Even though my sister calls me "acceptable black" I don't llike it because I still experience racism even though I'm fairer than my entire family.

I'm also sick of people saying if you are legal you are welcome because it is way past legal and illegal. They don't say "Go back to Canada or Europe" They only have problems with Mexicans and Hispanics. True they are the majority but they are NOT the only ones here. And they are the ONLY ones being attacked so don't tell me it's not a race issue.

No difference other than on a political view. It's cultural racism if someone calls a Hispanic less than what she is because of their views on immigration. I 've seen so much Jealosy for the African American when they succeed by their own race. In High school a classmate got shot by his friends because he was going to college. I am horrifed that people are racist agaisnt their own people. If a Mexican succeed, they must have somehow cheated to get there. I didn't even know what a coconut was until I got on this sight. I'm not saying some don't , but alot of them got where they aer through blood sweat and tears. Just because their Hispanic, doesn't mean they have to act the way you want. It's up to the individual to choose their path. I keep hearing from the proside not to bunch all hispanics into one group., then I see them turn around and do it themselves. SOme Mexicans have been here before it was AMerica, and their path of their culture went a different direction than the other Hispanics. Their culture is formed from their experience in Claifornia, or Texas, or Arizona. THey mixed and match and I hope to pick the best of what they saw and created their own culture. Are you to tell me that an Argentinian is the same as a Mexican. Heck is someone from Oxaca the same from someone from Mexico City??? Well A mexican AMerican is not the same as a Mexican, and they are free to make their own decision. THeir heritage is in AMerica, not Mexico. Even though their looks are different, their heritage comes from the soil they were born and their ancestor.

THanks for the link. I was wondering about the African Americans who work on the EEO that sabotages EEO cases. I have a clearer understanding now. Has nothing to do with immigration.

Mrs Jeters, I've seen plenty of stuff against the CHinese illegal immigrants, though it died down a decade ago.

Well, I'm black and I can tell you that you're not making points with African-Americans using that video. Malcom X was fighting to gain rights blacks are entitiled to by birth. Illegals are trying to force us to give them rights they are NOT entitled to have. Malcom X wasn't trying to get the government to create a new law to get around having violated legitimate laws. There's no valid comparison.

Using that video to make your point implies that "anti-immigrant" hispanics are "house ******" because they don't want to help illegal hispanics become legal. Basically, your point is that all hispanics should become anti-American and uprise against the country's legitimate law to give illegals the rights my people struggle to maintain despite entitlement. I don't think so.

Why didn't you use a Cesar Chavez video? Oh, what's that? Did you say something? Is it because he was anti-illegal immigrant? It is a well-known fact that Chavez, the Mexican-American leader of the migrant worker union movement was against illegal immigration? "House *****"... I don't think so. More like "Proud American" and a man who fought for the rights of all legal workers.

The question really should be about anti-ILLEGAL-immigrants. There's a big difference between illegal and legal immigration. The vast majority of this country is against ILLEGAL immigration while most have no problem with legitimate immigrants.

You know, there is actually a legitimate process to become a legal resident without running across a border and slapping people's faces with your country's flag in a rally and demanding rights you're not entitled to.

I married a legal immigrant who qualified to come on her own merits, not by fraud or by amnesty, and waited years to come here. "Legalizing" immigration violators through an amnesty program (and it IS amnesty any way you look at it) is an insult to legal immigrants. Anything short of doing it the legal way without trying to defraud the government (like with a fake marriage or bogus asylum claim) is pure BS.

Oh, and Ms. Jeter...it's not a race issue. It's an issue about respecting laws and not respecting laws. I don't want ANYONE to come here illegally, not just hispanics. And for the record, my immigrant wife's Colombian. And she's VERY against illegal immigration.

Oh, y <>. Creo que tu apodo dice todo... Una pregunta. Piensas que es posible ser orgulloso de tu patrimonio y respetar leyes, o no?

Anti-immigrant Hispanics are typically in Mexico (check out thier immigration policy and treatment of illegal aliens). Pro-immigrant Hispanics are more likely in America - a nation with a long history of accepting and assimilating immigrants from around the world.

Of course, the 'anti-immigrant' position is rather extreme, since it doesn't distinguish between legal and illegal immigrants (or desireable immigrants, like workers who's skills are in short supply, vs undesireable ones, like violent criminals, drug runners, or terrorists).

I'm still trying to figure out what Malcolm X's speech has to do with your question.

Not to mention are you talking about legal immigration or illegal immigration? If there's anti's out there that are hispanic I'm sure it's for the same reason I am. Obey the law and immigrate legally.

I'm still thinking and I really hope you're not trying to make the pitiful comparison I think you are.

Oh there is the desperate race issue again.

"heck I know some white US citizens that are pro-immigrant"
Nothing wrong with that. However there are more "white" as well as hispanic citizens that are anti-immigrant.

I happen to be a white US citizen that is pro-immigrant and everytime I say something about pro-immigration I get called a wet back or something stupid like that... its unfortunate but there are so many idiotic people in this world that we can't do anything about it.

Hardly anyone is anti-immigration. What don't you understand about breaking the law? Most Americans are ANTI-ILLEGAL immigration. Regardless of where they are coming from, all we want is for people who want to make the United States their home, follow the process, abide by the laws. Americans understand why people want to come live here, we just ask that they do it the right way.

I haven't seen too many anti-immigrant Hispanics. Most Hispanics understand that this is a needed workforce in order to have a strong economy. Without the "labor class" you have no foundation in the capitalist structure.........

well, i can bring up some absurd comparisons like the anti's do with "illegals" so I will. Anti immigrant hispanics are like coconuts. And and anti "illegal" hispanic saying he is proud of his heritage is like an anti semitic jew saying he is proud of his heritage.
