You mean like Kira (Yagami Light) from the anime 'Death Note?'

I think that all unnecessary murder is wrong. Taking the law into your own hands also bypasses safeguards that prevent abuse by any one person. So how about helping the police to incarcerate the criminals, instead of killing them yourself?

If this is something that you are considering I would recommend you look into a job with the Texas Department of Corrections (18 this year and counting). If this is some hypothetical question then I would have to answer with how do you know that they are murderers or dangerous? If you have first hand knowledge you really need to contact the authorities. If you are just assuming they are guilty what are you basing this judgement on?
Another problem is that you are asking human beings what they consider evil. Without a GOD centered world view evil becomes very subjective. I may consider the meter maid who tickted me 'evil'. You may consider your boss 'evil' while others think he is a stand up guy. This is the problem when we look at issues of good and evil without some objective standard to hold it too.

Yes. You should be trying to rehabilitate them.

Most people that are killers and rapists and such are that way because oof society. The world is not the pretty little place that television would have you believe it is. There are a lot of people out there that are tortured daily by living in a world that doesn't give a damn about them. Just like many people that turn to drugs to escape these problems, a lot of people tend to turn to violence. I suppose that they are using the same line of rationale that you are using in this question.

Just like Robin Hood was convinced that robbing from the rich and giving to the poor was the right thing to do, many criminals are convinced that stealing from the capitalistic fatcat societyis okay because if it weren't for all these jerks out here poisoning the world just so they can make a profit they wouldn't be impoverished and in desparate need anyway.

Living on this planet is not the sunny funny little walk in the park that up beat comedy movies portray. There are people out there suffering from deep, damaging depression brought on from being surrounded by apathetic, oftentimes hateful people that make them feel even crappier than they did in the first place... SOMETIMES INTENTIONALLY. It isn't right for them to take their frustrations out on everyone that reminds them of those peolple, but they do. And they, too feel justified in their actions for similat reasons as you'd feel justified for yours.

And, let's not forget the guys that have it all and are not suffering for money or attention. They do these nasty things because they are not satisfied with their millions and their women. Society has fooled them into thinking that money and power are the end all and the do all, well they're not. And after these guys get bored with the off the rack version of prosperity, they do the exact same thing that they do with their cars, houses, women, and gadgets: they try to go out and get a rarer, more interesting version. Once a man has had every type of sex with every type of woman... rape, incest, torture, and even murder become very attractive diversions to them. These won't bring them satisfaction, either, but they don't realize that. They just want to feed their void by shoving pills into it (in the form of victims) because that is how society has been teaching them (and everybody else) to handle their problems.

So, do me and everybody else a favor: if you ever actually apprehend one of the bad guys, take them to have them rehabilitated. And, while you are waiting to catch one, do what you can to reform the penal system so that they focus on rehabilitation and not just incarceration. And, also, do what you can to fix society, so that there will be fewer contributioons to all of these occurrences in the first place. That, my friend, would be your best bet.

Uh, yes.

The reason we have governments and laws is that religion and judgmental people show a lot of flaws in the way they mete out justice.

For example, I take strong exception to churches, like the Jehovah's Witnesses, who require that their members report child sexual abuse to the 'elders' of the church instead of the criminal authorities. This makes, in my opinion, all of their children potential victims, since the parents will not cooperate with law enforcement and will instead accept pseudo sanctions from the group instead.

Makes you wonder why a person like Michael Jackson (an accused pedophile) would embrace that faith, doesn't it?

Yes. Whether you'd actually BE evil depends on how bad these 'murderers and dangerous criminals' really are.

Who decides who they are?

You are not God, so you have no authority to decide who lives or dies, and that includes murderers and dangerous criminals. Even murderers and dangerous criminals are eligible for God's forgiveness and redemption should they decide to repent and turn to God.

If the duly constituted secular authorities decide that someone must be incarcerated or executed, one must remember that their authority ultimately comes from God (Romans, chapters 13 & 14).

God created life and all that exists. It is within His right and power to take it away if and when He so chooses. Book of Job, and Job's words - "God gives, and God takes away. Blessed be the name of God".

Yes. You as an individual do not have the authority to do such a thing. The authority to kill evildoers was given to governments by God, and this must not be abrogated. Your only recourse is to pray for that government to do what is right.

Thou shalt not commit murder.

I recommend that you stay within the law. Go to law school, become a judge, and work in a state that has capital punishment.

No; God tells us "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, thus sayeth the Lord". He also tells us that "Thou shalt not kill". We shouldn't take God's work into our own hands unless we are truly aware of every detail and facet of the situation and are ready to have that on our conscience. Having said that, I do believe in capital punishment; God's law allows for that.

You would have to specify by whos standards.

In some peoples eyes you would be righteous, in others you would be commiting mortal sins. Or anything in between.

I wouldn't advise you set about doing it either way.
