Zoloft is up there as one of the best to treat anxiety, etc. I tried it but it did not do much for me. But be mindful of the dose. 50mg is a low starting dose. Sometimes that is all that's needed. However if i had upped my dose i think it would have helped better. I am now taking Efexor which is great. I take 150mg a day. At my worst i was taking 300mg a day. So my advice is, if it is not doing much for you, discuss a higher dose with your doctor. Or if that is no good, try other medication. There are a different types of anti depressants out there and sometimes the hardest thing is finding the right one for you at the right dose. But take it long term and you will notice the difference in your life. Good luck.

I take 50mg off Zoloft. It helps so much. It helps with anxiety disorders as well. Hang in there and it should be pulling you out of depression 2-4 weeks. Also, i will mention that if you ever decide to get off , there are no side effects.

I have been taking Zoloft for about a year now. I find it very helpful. I am taking it for social anxiety disorder, and the difference is phenomenal. It is a very good drug for anxiety and depression. I actually feel like myself again, and that says a lot! Of course, everyone is different, so if you try it and it doesn't work for you, then you should talk to your doctor and try something else.

I use Zoloft as first choice for anxiety, panic disorder and depression. It is well-tolerated and works quickly.

Zoloft is an antidepressant in the SSRI class. You should take SSRIs for more than a few weeks to get the maximum therapeutic effect.

Your psychiatrist is the expert on this matter. Must communicate and follow your doctor's recommendations. Expensive or cheap is not the issue. All medication works very different on different people.

I used to take it and it did nothing for me and that was also the drug that Mike Tyson was taking when he bit that guys ear, but I have a friend who takes it and says she feels great so I guess it depends on the person.

I hated it. I got it when I went to the doc for athlete's foot! It made me so jumpy and anxious that I quit my job. But antidepressants work differently for all people.
