This wasn't directed towards me but it was towards my brother and his wife.
After their baby died, my brother's in-laws received a letter from some fundamentalist Christian who said basically that their baby was going to hell because he had not been saved.
I have never understood why someone would send a terrible letter like that. I could understand sending a letter that said something to the affect of- through Jesus you can live with your baby again, I mean that gives hope - but telling a grieving family that their baby is in hell- that is just over the top.
My Family is LDS

"If you had any idea how that sounds to a Christian you would never say it. You could have worshiped at a Christian church. You could have read the Bible. You could have been baptized but no one can "Used to be a Christian". Becoming a Christian is all about birth. Your parents are you parents it doesn't matter how old you are and if you love them or not, believe me they will always love you, and you will always be their child. If you received Christ when you were a "christian" and you became a child of God through faith, you can't be unborn. Though you may deny Him, Jesus will never leave nor forsake you. If all you did was to play the game and never let Him in that's a different story. But that would mean I was correct in my initial answer to your question."
I haven't had many bad experiences as I'm a new wiccan and most of my family doesn't know. My dad's very religious and would probably seriously disown me once he figured out that I wouldn't go back to christianity.
Edit: This is an email in reply to one of my questions in which I say that I used to be christian.

Jesus will float into the air in the second coming and I pray for your soul... (or something like that)
The person typing on the laptop tells me, "science is lying and you guys can't prove anything turn to god."
And "evolution is a form of religion"
I would really like to debate a smart theist. Seriously, I want to debate someone who actually defends their views in empirical, non-emotional ways. But it hasn't happened yet. The best I've seen from them are the mildly tolerant and liberal types.

Someone (A Christian) actually told me (here on Yahoo Answers) that Mormons are not recognized as children of God. I thought...goodness, what a horrible thing for a Christian to say.
That really got to me, for someone to say that people of my faith weren't even children of God.
And it came from a 'Christian'. I just couldn't believe that someone who claims they are a follower of Christ would make such a hateful remark.

Agnostics are just Christians waiting to happen.
Atheists are comparable to racists (not directed at me, just saw it on here).
You are going to hell. (As if any Christian gets to make that judgment.)
And on a church sign I once read, "Atheists believe in something. They just don't know what."

I was a wolf in sheeps clothing.
Aparently they were certain that the only reason anyone of my faith would be nice would be to "trick others to join," as if I couldn't be nice just for the sake of being nice.

"I was put into your life to save your soul. The Mormons have brainwashed you. You are not a Christian like the Mormons want you to believe. It is my responsibility to save you from burning in hell."
Yes, someone actually said that to me.

I have been told (by fundamentalist atheists) that I am a lunatic, crazy, moron, or out of touch with the real world; because I am a Christian.
