Everytime I wake up in the morning or have been gone for a bit, when my dog sees me, she will roll over and always want a belly rub.
Though she doesn't look like she's itcy on her stomach or anything. So why in the world does she do that? A friend of mine said it was a sign of trust. That right?

It's a submisive action that tells you your dog still thinks your alpha. That is a good thing. I have had a male dog that has butted heads with my husband trying to be alpha and it doesn't make for a smooth running house.

So be glad and pet her belly!!!

When your dog rolls over to show you her belly, it is a show of trust. Also, when she was young, her mother would lick massage her belly to help her digest and to help her go to sleep.

Dogs have a good memory for positive things when they were puppies, and I believe that a belly rub is more than a good feeling... I think it makes dogs feel good and safe, and loved....

Haha. My dogs do that too .. and yes, I think it IS a sign of trust. I mean, at least she wants you to rub her stomach instead of running away from you or biting you lol

Your dog loves you. A belly rub to them is like a hug and a kiss to us. Be kind to that dog.

My dog also likes belly rubs. She especially likes it when you go to bed and then you rub her belly until she is asleep. She trust you and that it wonderful.

Rolling over onto their backs is a form of submission. She is seeing you as alpha, which is a very good thing.

Your friend is exactly right. It's showing submission, to you, the dominant one in the relationship, the dog is showing appreciation for your existance!

It's her spot! My dog's spot is her chest. If I scratch it long enough, she'll nod off to sleep.
