The file C:\Users\Ally\Desktop\birdy.ppt 2.ppt cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer. If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.

I have to assume that you have Microsoft Powerpoint. If you do, or you can get access to a PC with it on, there is a way to do this. You need to save the Powerpoint slides as individual jpeg's, which can then be imported into Movie Maker.
An excellent step-by-step instructional video can be found at the link below.

ppt is usually powerpoint, so if u have microsoft office usually you wont need a codec,
it might be that the file have a video inside it which means you might have to install some kind of video codec depending on the type of video clip attached.

ppt = Microsoft Power Point Program.

So I would asume that you would need to update your Windows Machine.... or try the help pages in Power point and search for codec.... and get the latest ones..

If I see it right, the file extension is ".ppt" ?

If so, the file is probably a powerpoint presentation. You would either need Microsoft Powerpoint or the Powerpoint viewer.

You can download the free powerpoint viewer here...
