Sounds like mites or maybe something in her ear. Check her ears. If there is a lot of brown crusty stuff than looks like old dried blood then she has mites. You can actually by ear wash and mite meds from any good pet store but the best stuff is sold by vets only. You need to be careful or you dog may actually break the blood vessels in her ear and then she will have to have surgery to repair this as well as the cost of treating the mites.

It could be either, so get her checked by a vet.

Aside from the actual problem in the ear, if you don't stop the head shaking you may end up with an aural haematoma - a swelling of the ear caused by burst blood vessels, most commonly caused by head shaking. This will add further expense on top of getting the ear infection sorted out, so get the dog to a vet asap!

Sounds like one of these so she needs a vet, you did not say what breed so I can only reply that dropped earred dogs get the mites more often than dogs with erect ears, an infection can bother either ear type

Yes, more than likely an ear infection. Get her to a vet. Untreated inner ear infections can affect her equilibrium and be more difficult to treat. You are probably fine though, especially if she just started doing this. Could even be yeast.

Have the vet check her ears, some dogs are prone to ear infections. Also, she might just need to have her ears cleaned. I take my dog to the vet to have her nails trimmed and I have him check ears and anal glands when they do the nails.

mites or ticks-if you can't see any ticks, have it checked for mites as they are microscopic sized and need ear drops.

It could be either one or both. I suggest you have her checked out by the vet so that the situtation doesn't get worse. Can you imagine having to feel this way and act this way and not be helped?
