Walk around the block. Smell the flowers, pet the dogs. Have a drink of cold water. Get back to "clear and present."

Sounds like a temporary,but dramatic shift in blood pressure and/or possible blood glucose level,due to a sudden adreneline rush.

Try stop watching them. It could be that you're letting your imagination get a hold of you and from being all worked up you get the sounds.
