Is it through lack of sleep? Through denial of feeling the anger and releasing it? Through a hurt self? Through pride? Through being misrepresented and gossiped about to others? In the long run, does it matter what causes it? As a friend has just made me aware, we are All humans and are All plagued by Humanity. Is being a "Spiritual being having a human experience" the main answer? Growth, always growing. Thank you my friends. I smile. I bow to you.

You cant lose peace and love in the blink of an eye. It is inside you , it is how u feel. You can get frustrated and angry about something but that's a natural reaction that anyone will feel at a given circumstance. It doesnt mean that peace inside u was gone..and the love will just fade just like that. Being human does not exempt us from feeling normal

Hi Digi! I think cat and phil make good points.

We are surely all things at once. But like dice, we only show some of our sides at a time.

So the peace and love are still there. Just as when we are peaceful and loving, the anger or spite is there too. We are like oceans. Who knows what will arise from the depths when we are 'disturbed'.

Through our journeys we learn to calm the seas, the dragons sleep and of our monkey thoughts cease their chatter. But if you bang loudly enough, they're sure to wake. That's human!

Namaste.

Genuine Peace and Love can never be lost, since it is what You are; qualities of being that may or may not be realized. What is 'lost' is the dualistic experience of the idea of peace and love, and even then it is not lost but merely further defining itself through non peace and non love; the conceptual opposites.

Peace, sourced from within, is the eye of the storm, around which the world is free to spin wildly, and yet it remains undisturbed. Love, sourced from within, stands beyond both love and fear, and Loves them both.

as you have noticed, peace and love are very fragile and they do disappear that quickly. And for all the reasons you mentioned. And it's not just spiritual beings in human bodies, but spiritual beings without human bodies can make mistakes of mind that plunge them into suffering as well. We will be perfecting ourselve forever.

When we hurt or are hurt by others, it is only ever manifested if we cling to these feelings, take ownership, "it is my anger", "it is my hurt", "I am justified in my pain", "I was misrepresented", "I was gosipped about", All manifestations of the Self, my weary and suffering friend.

Let me explain this by example if I may, it may help you understand why you feel what you feel...this is from recent personal experience...it nearly cost me my job because of gossip, outright lies and deception

I am a technical trainer, I train local saudis to do what I do. They have examinations and were at the stage of their final exams last year. My trainees approached me for some questions to research on their own for study and guidance to help them in their examinations.

I approached the other trainers and was offered a bank of questions and answers with study guide references which covered all that the trainess had learned. I was given this by 2 other trainers and told to erase the answers, re-arrange the questions out of order, re-write them as required and give them to the trainees to study and research using the supplied references. This I did. The trainees then went off and started their research and passed very well. They were very happy with my efforts because none of the other trainers were prepared to help them at all and they were very afraid of failure.

A copy of these questions were found by the officials at the training cell and questions were raised and fingers pointed to the author of these questions. Questions were being asked as to who it was who aided the trainees in cheating. All fingers were pointed at me. My job was immediately put at risk and I was being asked directly why I should not be immediately dismissed.

I searched for the support of the 2 trainers who assisted me. They were the ones pointing the finger of blame at me and they were the ones who advised the training cell that I was to be dismissed for cheating. They were the ones who suggested it in the first place...a very difficult situation, don't you think...?

I owned up to the authorship of the questions, naturally as I authored them pointing out the fact that the answers were not provided and that the questions were in truth sought for guidance. They were satisfied and the matter was closed. There was much admiration shown by all involved, yet I was put in serious jeopardy by these same people by their own lies and deception.

Did I lose Peace...? No. Do I trust these people..? No. Of course not. I am now a little wiser and treat them with distance. They were afraid for themselves and pointed the finger of blame away from themselves to save their own positions. I could not trust them ever again. This is their Karma for their Unwise Actions. They have a lost a friend, I have not been affected other than gaining insight into their true motivations. Other things have happened, equally as negative, yet here I am....

I'm still here, my plans for the future remain intact, my family are secure, yet many of those who have hurt me are not...Karma...? Perhaps, but I remain ... alone perhaps in a sea of fear and mistrust after the other guys have seen what has been occuring to me....I remain because I do not exhibit Upadana, I don't pick up the pain, I allow others to take responsibility for their own Karma and I deal with experiences as they arise...if it is Karma that these experiences arise then so be it....

Perceptions are everything. They determine our actions.

Peace from a Buddhist....

Anger and hatred are chief among reasons for the loss of these virtues. They are the worst because they are destructive for ourselves and others. Under their control, we can say and do hurtful things, and quickly get very far away from our true selves. At the root of these destructive emotions is ignorance, which is the basis for action and the results these actions produce - the self-grasping ignorance and the self-cherishing attitude it produces. Think of others and be happy, think of yourself and be miserable!

Heyyyyy, good to see you! I haven't seen you in a bit! I do think it's being a spiritual being and having a human experience. I think that is what has helped me through some personal fires without hatred and resentment. I bow to you. Shanti and namaste

I think hurt has a lot to do with it Digi
people can go through life with ease and quite happy , until someone hurts them
this seems to spark of a defence mechanism of " I will hurt them before they hurt me "
and so begins a vicious circle
all peace and love is lost

( lovely to see you xx )

Well, it could be because they're bipolar or because they try really hard to keep everything peaceful.

That's how I am...it takes A LOT to get me mad at someone or something, but when it happens the phrase "hell hath no fury" can be said about my attitude.
