if the school had a devil mascot, they would say its freedom of expression and "bold"?

Yes it has happened. A school's mascot is "The Fired Up Devil" and people complained and it got changed to a "Blue Devil" or some crap.

Athiests are all mixed up! They seem to think religon is pushed on them if they hear or see anything attributed to the bible. They are so threatened by God that they will try to eradicate anything that they percieve as a threat to thier belief system.
In my hometown a teacher wore a angel pin to class. Another teacher who was an athiest threw a temper tantrum because he felt like she was pushing her religon on him. Needeless to say the teacher with the angel pin was fired and the school had all of its teachers listen to a speech about sepration of church and state.

I wouldn't bother about either. One is just as realistic as the other.

are you sure it weren't Satanists saying that instead of Atheists? Besides, an Angel represents service to other people, not questioning anything, while a Devil would represent rebellion, freedom of speech and the freedom to question. Just like the Angels and Fallen Angels in the Bible... look it up!

**edit**

Forgot to add; I would rather have a School accepting freedom of speech and the will to rebel rather than a school that does just what's asked of it and nothing more.

So long as it's a college, I don't care if they use a gigantic condom as a mascot. Public education establishments need to refrain from using both the angel AND the devil.

I've never had a problem with the N.O. Saints, the San Diego Padres, or the LA Angels of Anaheim.

You have far more religious nuts biased about the devil references than you do atheists that are biased about religious references.

Great questions. I've been asking myself the same general question for years. Why do so many atheists feel the desire to pound away at the foundations of others' beliefs?

you can make some of the people all of the time, and you can make all of the people happy some of the time, but you cannot make all of the people happy all of the time. Get over it, that's life.

They like anything that goes AGAINST the bible since they think it's fake.
