does this follow you when you move states?

In some states yes. California takes the priors regardless of where they were committed. In Tennessee they don't have three strikes rules. Otherwise 92% of the state would be in jail. Unless they legalized screwing family members and under age.

You are issued a State identification number when you are convicted of crime - if you are caught in again they run your criminal history and will see your history. Your criminal history follows you. But judges do not always have to base your current punishment on your history.

it will follow you. I know some guy who came from LA and got arrested in Illinois and sent back to California
