what the hell is this?
good lord man, look up the term false dichotomy!
Anyhow, to answer your loaded question, "Who is morally superior?"
Neither.
Why? Because from the perspective, a Christian hypocrite is on the exact same footing as an atheist.
How? While the Christian denies God by his hypocrisy, the atheist denies God outright.
Both are to perish so neither have the advantage.

Morality is based upon deeds not on what you say or profess to believe. A Christian hypocrite would by definition not be practicing Christian principles and behavior making him morally wrong. An honest Atheist could be either depending on behavior (they might be honest but still be capable of cruelty).

Neither can be morally superior. The only difference between the two is the Christian believes in imaginary beings and the atheist doesn't.

Honesty is always higher than hypocrisy, irrespective of religion.

Besides, if the Christian was a proper Christian, s/he wouldn't be a hypocrite in the first place :)

Id go with the following on this one: knowledge comes with responsibility.

An atheist, will be ignorant of most of the things God wants, and since God only judges people from what they do know, a Christian would be judged double!! and expected to know better!!! And a Christians sin is a double sin compared to the atheist (who is ignorant of the rules of religion)

Morals cannot be judged for one person's morals are differen't from another. I may say the honest atheist because even though they do not believe, they do not sin and God will look at that with joy.

But the Christian hypocrite will be looked upon with dissapointment for they knew the word of God, and probably preached it, but they did not follow God's law. But the Christian can repent all they want of their sins, then they are clean again.

Of course, there are closed minded Christians who would say automatically that the atheist is worse...but who cares? They don't know the gospel for what it's meant.

Morally superior?
In this scenario - The honest atheist.
Why?
Because the Christian is suppose to be Christ-like in action, word, deed and spirit. If the Christian does not project him/herself that way, then they are held more accountable for their erroneous ways. Not held accountable to Man, but to God. Bottom-line, the Christian answers to God.
The atheist answers to NO ONE, and therefore, believes he/she is free to choose whether or not to follow Man's limited morality, yet without accountability to God (although with limited accountability to Man).

So, WHO is morally superior?
A Christian who follows Christ.

I always side with the Atheists... it is better to CHOOSE not to believe in "god" than to believe because you are afraid of what is out there and then become hypocritical becuase others do not believe.

Look at the christinas answers.... see for yourself.

That would depend on the morals of each individual, you can be a hypocrite and still have morals, you can be honest and still lack in morals.
