I am scared because Jews can find evidence the Jesus is NOT the messiah in the Hebrew Bible(Old Testament).

But...

Christians are can find evidence that he IS the messiah in the Old Testament. and they can find evidence the he is GOD in the the New Testament

If I believe in Jesus and believe the Trinity he taught and he is NOT the messiah, I'll go to hell for idolatry.

If I DON'T believe in Jesus and he IS the messiah/part of the trinity, then I'll go to hell.

What should I do? I need help with this? I am scared about who to believe.

You must ask yourself whether you believe that Christ rose from the dead after he was crucified. The Gospels are very clear that Christ rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, and that he appeared to his disciples on numerous occasions for about 40 days after his resurrection. A number of these appearances are well documented in the Gospels, describing what Christ said and did. If you accept his resurrection then he must be the messiah. If you cannot accept his resurrection you must believe that the New Testament scriptures are filled with lies. But if you do not trust the New Testament, what is there to make you trust the Old Testament? You must either accept Judaism and Christianity as its fulfilment, or reject both of them. As posters above have pointed out, there are many prophecies in the Old Testament that accurately describe Jesus Christ, so if you accept only the Old Testament you will have to blind yourself to all its verses that point towards Christ. Why would you do this?

In the Old Testament there are many figures of what the messiah is like. A great figure is the story of Joseph, and you should read from a little after the middle of Genesis, from just before Joseph is 17, to the end of the book, there are many clues to the nature of the messiah, his brothers all wanted to kill him and then sold him, and then he was put in prision then he was taken out by Pharaoh to reign.

Also consider David, Job, Solomon, Moses, Sampson who represent different aspects of the Messiah.

Attention should also be given to a multitude of prophesies that were fulfilled by Jesus.

In my research I find that 'almah (spelled ayin lamed mem heh) is mistranslated as "virgin" and should be translated as "handmaid" and Jewish scholars would certainly agree with that. But on the contrary zare' ZRO (zayn rosh ayin) is in some cases translated "arm", but it means "seed", yod means "arm", kapha means "hand" not "palm". So in the book of Isaiah there is talk about God's seed, evidence for the messiah; Hebrew scholars will not agree with this.

Then you have to consider what we are saved from, sin, and how can we be saved from that... So this requires a deep understanding.

Also you should first listen to the Bible. Anything which someone tells you may or may not stand the scrutiny of the whole Bible. The Bible is the authority and foundation for what is true.

You can email me if you have any further questions. I specialize in Ancient Hebrew linguistic morphology (non-Masoretic or pre-Masoretic), and I am a Christian.

Believe in yourself . Know that treating others kindly and helping them is what is right .
That if you do this then no matter which religion is right you have done well and will be rewarded in the after life .

Or you can accept that religion is a bunch of crap as I do and enjoy life without harming others and when you are old and close to death have fond memories and stories to relate to others so you are not lonely .
Tell them of the great loves you had in life of your business successes and failures and what you learned . Tell them of the crazy stuff you did and how not once have you ever felt as though you need a higher power to guide you .
That you never waited for a reply from above and that you made sound rational choices that filled your life with friends and children from many women you loved .

This life is all you get . So spend some time around an old folks home and ask them how to live a great life .
They will enjoy the company and you may learn something .

Actually you can show that Yahshua is God from the old testament. There are far more examples than in the new.

Start with Isaiah 12. Get a interlinear bible and compare the words with what the words actually say.

Then when you have a firm grasp of this passage all other passages will start taking on a new meaning and it will become clear to you that we worship One God and that that One God is the same One God that the patriarchs and Israelites worshiped That is Yahweh and that Yahweh became Yahshua. You'll figure out there is no trinity. Everything will start falling into place.

You are where I was some 30 years ago.

As a former Catholic who converted to Judaism, I wrestled with such dilemmas.

After much research and theological reading, I came to the conclusion that:
1. Jesus was Jewish;
2. Jesus did not intend to start a new religion;
3. God accepts ALL people of ALL faiths, as long as we try to be good.

From there, I made the switch to Judaism had haven't looked back in fear.

Many Christian leaders are realizing that to say "Jesus is the only way" is not what Jesus tried to teach.
The Gospels, after all, were written years after Jesus died.
Their translation and interpretation have been taken out of context and twisted to suit those who wish to control you and your life.

My thinking is that Jesus would be happy if you were just a good human being...and he'd know that God would accept you, regardless of what you believe or don't believe.

Shabbat Shalom!

The JEws are still the chosen ppl of God, and we are to love them and support them. They have so much truth. absolutely. we can learn from them about the Holy Days for example taht we still need to be observing today, much truth, But the jews were so busy living the law and they missed the truth about Jesus. They knew a messiah was coming, but didnt recognize Jesus as the messiah. But many are coming into the fold now, and that all fortetold in the Bible. God loves the jews and we are to love them too. BUt, we are to tell them the truth about Jesus, and let the Holy Spirit do the convicting. If you use the Bible, you will see that all we need to know is right there YOu dont have to fear that Jesus is the messiah, and the Bible says HE is. ANd we are told that JEsus is God and so is the Holy Spirit. SO we either believe the Bible or we dont. Just go to the Bible and ask God to reveal truth to you. Talk to some messianic jews that have come to know Jesus as their saviour, and ask them to advise you on how they came to that conclusion There are no contradictions in the Bible, just ppl finding things they dont undersatnd yet. Many jews are coming to Jesus, and its so awesome, and more wil come too. Just pray for them as you find truth yourself. GOd bless you.

AK1, Jews who claim to find OT evidence that Jesus is not the Messiah are stretching points to deny him.

Same as the first century guys did.

There are some good resources out there:
Jesus fulfilled over 300 very specific messianic prophesies in his life. Over 30 on the day of his death. Many "signs" of the Messiah that are not commonly understood today, but were clear to the folks of his day.

The ones they say he did not fulfull, are the ones he WILL fulfill in his second coming. This is a mystery to those who do not believe, but is clear to those who receive his spirit.

Read the Book of Hebrews, if you are familiar iwth the OT. It makes a lot of things clear - it was written to the Jewish Church of the 1st Century, before 68 AD.

both the old and new testaments eventually teach that "faith" is what saves us. if there were some sort of undebatable proof one way or the other, no faith would be needed. Pray and ask God to reveal to you in your journeys whether or not Jesus is who the New Testament says He is. If your heart is truly seeking, you will find your answer...but it wont be in the form of incontravertible evidence...it will be in your heart.

God will not deny you that answer. I dont know how He will answer or when, but He will.

Eventually, it will still come down to faith...

I would like to recommend a book to you called Messiah Prophecies Fulfilled by D. James Kennedy. This is a very important decision that you are about to make. Be sure you seek God diligently and do some research before you make it. It is truly life and death.

Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is Antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also.John 2:22

Also I say to you, whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God. Luke 12:4

John 3:17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but He who does not believe is condemned already, because He has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God bless!!
