Im not atheist...but just look it up..you should get plenty of answers.

also what amazes me...is you make a simple mistake in spelling and you get picked on by the atheists...sheesh...such jerks. and they say christians are rude.

sensitive buggers

also...what gets me...which an atheist mentioned is when we say " God did it" but it would be impossible because evolution took millions of years...thats possibly also true too..I mean how does anyone know that One day in Gods time..isn't 1 million years in human time?

Well lets see...

THINK

how are we to be experts on the universe if we have bary made it to our moon and have not even invented hyper/warp drive?

Universe is pretty big... to answer your question you need telescopes several solar systems long...

Just As we have not got perfect answrrs yet does not mean the invisible My little pony gos or the supa doopa space octopus who nobody can see did it likewise not a god.

you god s were invented to control the masses and give simplistic answers like why do you get volcanos and tidal waves?

as the gods angry as you did not sacrifice virgins.

Now we know better.

in thousands of years we should unlock the mysteries of the universe.

In the mean time our primitive technopogy compared to other races shows are worlds to be a cooled part of the Sun and the universe appears to have always been there with panets changing and suns dying and reworking all the time only billions of years is nothing.

Your life is just chemicals re arranging

Forming into patterns that replicate into complex life forms.

They have progressed that way by tiral and error ... ie evolution to what works best for the conditions

And still evolving

we appeart to have progressed from viruses but hell we could be some aliens science project

The worls is just a rock in space that lucky for us has the right conditions to support life

i am not an aeithist i am just wondering why you ask this question in the religion section.
i use to be aeithist and to tell you the turth YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HAVE A RELIGION TO THINK OF THE WORLD AND ALL LIFE CAME 2 BE
any one with out a religion can answer that.
in my openion if i was to think like someone that doesn't bevlie in god i would say that the world is ful of wonder and can be a good place to live if you make it
all life came to be was form the big bang b
i would say that the world is getting bad as time goes by

Evolution.

I have a question for you. I am not being sarcastic, you have your religion, and I can respect that.

The Greeks believed in multiple gods(Zeus, Athena, Hades....) . It is said that the Romans created these gods to put fear into their subjects to make them easier to control.

Many saw the gods and feared the wrath doing wrong would bring, and it also gave them answers to why we are here.

If you call their religion a "myth", who is to say a million years from now, an adcanced civilization will discover the bible as we know it and not think it is the same type of nonsense?

Your question requires more than a "sound bite" answer. If you are really truly interested I would suggest some reading. Start with Charles Darwin "The Origin of Species" and Richard Dawkins "The Selfish Gene". These are two wonderful Scientists that can explain it much better than I can. You can read the entire "Origin of Species" here http://www.literature.org/authors/darwin-charles/the-origin-of-species/
Let me know what you think.

The world came from a cloud of intersteller material that originated in a star, and was probably dispersed by a supernova.

Life, no one is sure where it came from, but the conventional wisdom is that self assembling molecules (like simple RNA and stuff) combined with (non biological) fatty bubbles to create the first life like things. That might be wrong, but we will continue to look for evidence.

I truly believe God created the universe and all life. There has to be something that started all of this. Look at the miracles involved in every day life. Tell me there is no God when you look at the miracle of pregnancy of all life, the way that nature takes care of itself in healing, rain, immune systems etc. Also, research prayer and the miracles that follow. God is the reason for all we have but we have but we are the ones who make our lives what they are.

I can tell you how it did not come to be - some "super-god" did not create everything from nothing. It would take a being of unimaginable complexity to create everything. Just take a moment to think about what "everything" really is; molecules, atoms, planets, laws of physics, gravity, fish, plants, quarks, tachyons, radiation, dirt, water, air (which are all built on atoms and molecules), and on and on. It is 100% improbable that such a being exists. I will go so far as to say it is 100% impossible (although some say nothing is impossible, I would disagree with that statement; flying pigs are not possible).

It is far easier to explain how the world and life came to be using natural physical law than it is to try and explain how "god did it".

its Atheists. Might like to work on your spelling.

Life came about through a process of evolution. As for what caused the universe to come into existance, I don't know but I'll keep searching until I find out. If I don't find out, oh well. That doesn't mean a god did it.

Your question is so original? The whole "god did it" takes away the fun in looking for possible theories and doing experiments. It's like renting a movie and the clerk tells you the ending and you're no longer in the mood to watch it...

I honestly don't know, there are of course various theories out there as seen in some of the other answers but as far as I know no one can tell you with 100% certainty, however I don't believe this makes religion any more credible at least not in my own opinion.
