I simply cannot believe how many people do not understand what the word THEORY means.

A hypothesis is an untested idea.

Once tested, proven and with a body of evidence, it is a THEORY. A theory is a body of FACT that offers a complete description of something with a body of supporting evidence and that is capable of making verifiable predictions.

So yes, if gravity is a theory then this means it is FACT.

Now we come to the meaning of a theory. A theory is the second-strongest thing you can have in science. It is an educated explanation of a large amount of observed phenomena, not a tentative explanation. Now, if you jumped out of your window and floated, the theory of gravity would be disproven and someone'd have to think of a new one taking into account your experience.

No, silly, gravity is real. The theory pertains to HOW it works, whether gravity functions by random chance, or by natural laws established by some. . . .entity.

Gravity is an observable law; a fact.

The exact mechanics of gravity are entirely theory.

Interesting idea: an ape walking and dressed like Santa. That's kind of poetic for evolutionary thinking.

It is a proven fact that if you jump from a five-story building you will not fall. You will float down real easy. Try it for yourself. It really works.

Its not a theory, its a Law
However, the theory of evolution is more important to scientists than the laws are...

Creationists make it sound as though a 'theory' is something you dreamt up after being drunk all night.
