More than likely, youd have a better chance of living with a high number pellet load, like 8 or 9 id imagine if you were several feet away, since it spreads. One of those pellets is tiny, and it wont be near as powerful as a big one or a slug. On the other hand, it might be worse if the shotgun was against your shest where teh pellets have a few inches to travel instead of several feet. I would really ahte to be hit by a low number shot from like 4 to 00. A slug would definitly drop you dead.

Even if none of the pellets reach the heart, a large hole in the middle of your chest is never good for your health. If you plan on being shot like this, though, try to do so near a trauma center. The right ventricle is in front of the left, and gunshot wounds to the right ventricle that live to surgery have a pretty good save rate. If a pellet gets to the left ventricle, you're screwed.

a .410 shoots about 40-60 steel pellets. if you got shot anywhere at close range you are gonna feel, and the med that is trying to stop you're internal bleeding is gonna know you got shot. but please, feel free to try this. it will mean less stupid people to have to deal with everyday.
live in western PA, and damn proud of it <((((><

It depends what type of spread you have and how far. If you get shot with a tight spread at 5 yards then you could very well die. If you got shot with a moderate spread from 30 yards away then you might be ok and not die. Here is my experience. Dont play around with guns. I was building a paintball bunker one summer and shot myself in the hand with a nail gun. Hurt like a ***** and it wasnt even a real gun.

Well you could have a slim chance of surviving.Scientist have concluded that it will depend on the way your body is structured. The angle that you got shot at. As well as the amount of time it takes your body to heal and how much blood you lose. But more than likely you will die if it was at a very close range.

99.9% of the time YES, You will in fact die.Too much trauma to a vital organ, and too many pellets and holes to patch or repair in surgery. You wouldn't need a doctor.Just a funeral director......
