What would be THE most romantic thing to do in New York City?

Hubby and I will be there for a romantic weekend. What would you recommend we do/see while we are there?

I agree with the guy above, if you want romance don't even come here but.... SINCE you are coming :)

I recommend Dinner at one of the great places down in the village (take the 6 train to astor place, or just ask a taxi driver to take you to the east village) (depends on your exact tastes, but they have pretty much all types)

Also... Go to the ferry and walk from battery park to tribeca (west side highway) along the river , the view is amazing

There are great clubs in the village and all over manhattan but they aren't romantic, they are mostly wild animal houses.

:) go find one of the horse carriages on 59th and broadway (columbus circle) they take you through a great part of manhattan ( try to do it at night though)

take a walk through Central Park

take the Ferry as late as possible (after 11pm), you'll mostly have it to yourself and if you stand outside the view is AMAZING


if i think of anymore i'll let you know, I live in new york so i don't really know what a tourist would find fun

hmm...the view of the brooklyn bridge at night is always romatic and thrilling because it's so beautiful. Center something around that...Ilike having dinner at The River Cafe or sitting by the water at South Street Seaport. In the summer time, they usually have alot of activities going on over there, like music shows and stuff, and lots of little places to eat right by the water, you feel like your on a ship. It's really nice. Enjoy! :)

I suggest an evening stroll in a horse drawn carriage around central park. take along a picnic basket with wine or champagne, cheese, and fruit.
