It's a very cute idea. I would do the bouquets for the bridesmaid gifts, but not the centerpieces. If I sat down at a reception and there was a bunch of socks on the table, however cute the arrangement, I might be a tad grossed out. Something about footwear near my food...

I didn't know what the heck to expect when I clicked on the link, but I was surprised by how nice that looked. I think that it depends on your guests. Do they have a sense of humor or are they a little snooty? No matter how nice it looks it is just a little humorous because I mean, it's socks. Some people would handle that sort of thing differently than others. Since it is your profession then I see nothing wrong with making something like that for a centerpiece. Yeah, it's definitely different and some may say it's strange. But it's your wedding and it's something that exemplifies you. You're stepping out of the box and I think that's fine...it will definitely give your guests something to talk about! :-)

It looks cute in the picture, but what is the point? I mean it's not like socks are romantic or something. Are they alot cheaper than flower centerpieces or are you just into socks? The little extra gift for the bridesmaids is a great idea, everyone loves comfy socks.

When I first thought about it...I have to admit, I did a little "ewwww." But you know, with your adorable cake, you do need something a little out of the ordinary for your centerpieces as well--with a little extra funkiness. The traditional roses/mixed floral bouquets as centerpieces aren't going to cut it with your reception, you need something more advant garde. Those do look really cute--however I would want to see them in person rather than a photograph. Sometimes something looks great in a photo, but then you get it in real life, and it doesn't look as good, ya know? I think they would be cute for bridesmaids bouquets or even the throwaway bouquet for sure....

do the bouquets and the centerpieces!! If you have the time, I say go for it!! you could add some pearl bead loops or something like that to give it that extra wedding touch.

Wow. When you said sock bouquet, I have to admit, I couldn't imagine what it would look like, but those look really cool. I think they could make nice centerpieces and even double as favors for the guests. Since that's your profession, it would be more than appropriate to have something like that.

I think it is a really cute idea. I wasn't so sure what you were talking about until I saw the pic, and it took me a while to realize it was the roses made out of socks! Especially if people know you design socks, they'll get it, and think it is cute too. Go for it!

They'd really have to be great socks not to look tacky as centerpieces.
You could use a sock bouquet for the "throwaway" instead of the real one. That might be cute.

You know at the end of the day your wedding day is YOURS...do whatever you want to do. If the sock thing is something personal to you and I think the pic looks great then do it!! Flowers die and go in the garbage these are something people can keep around a little longer. I think it is a great idea as long as it has meaning to you....Good Luck!

No, don't use them as gifts, nor for table centerpieces. Maybe just make one bouquet, and have it at the reception somewhere, maybe at the guest book table.
