For the sake of His own character and law, God must judge sin; but for the sake of His beloved Son, God is willing to forgive sin. Remember, Jesus is the Lamb "slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev. 13:8; see Acts 2:23; 4:27-28), so that God had already made provision for forgiveness and salvation.
A new name (v. 20). Adam believed God's promises (vv. 15-16) and called his wife's name "Eve," which means "living." Faith simply takes God at His Word and acts upon it.
New clothing (v. 21). God's response to Adam and Eve's faith was to remove their flimsy man-made garments and clothe them with acceptable garments that He Himself provided (Isa. 61:10). Innocent animals had to die so that the man and woman might have a new beginning and be back in fellowship with the Lord. It's a picture of what Jesus did for sinners on the cross when He died for a sinful world (2 Cor. 5:21).

The whole story of the Bible is in Genesis and shows God's true nature, satan's nature, and what happened to God's creation Adam and Eve to change their nature from innocent and perfect to sinful and blocked from God's presence.
God is: holy, just, loving. In His Holiness He cannot look upon sin.
God made man in His image and likeness. Satan came into the garden to draw Adam and Eve away from God. when Adam and Eve disobeyed their nature changed. They hid from God and blamed their behavior / disobediance away. In other words Adam blamed Eve for his actions, and Eve put the blame on the serpant. Sounds like us a lot of the time eh?
Neither Adam and Eve were innocent any more. They felt shame and knew evil, yet, before their disobedience to God's command, they were innocent and unashamed and walked in fellowship with God.
Did God forgive Adam and Eve? If you read the account you will see how God killed the first animals and covered Adam and Eve's nakedness in the bloody skins. This is God's plan for all mankind for forgiveness. It also reflects God's love for mankind. There were also consequences for sin.
(read the Genesis account chapters 1-4)
Only God can pronounce forgiveness of sin!
The devil cannot forgive us as he's doomed eventually to the pit. We cannot forgive ourselves. No other man can forgive us of sin. why you might ask? All humans have come from Adam and Eve. How can we receive forgiveness you might ask?
Our sin was paid for us by God Himself, Jesus Christ, on the Cross at Calvary.

Try to imagine the following diatribe is being spoken by Morpheus from The Matrix: lol..
Do you think God is in the slightest bit affected by the actions of his creations?
Do you think a father is angry when his 2 year old child spills juice upon the floor?
Do you think God expelled Adam and Eve from Eden for a punishment or for training purposes?
Do you really think God takes the rebelious actions of his small created lifeforms personally?
Do you think God holds grudges?
The material world is a school for souls with free will, not a punishment.

I would say that they did if they ask fro forgiveness. But before Jesus Christ was born and died on the cross, to receive forgiveness, a burnt offering had to be done in the old testament of the bible. The thing is though just because they were forgiven does not mean they were allowed to go back into the garden of Eden. They were forgiven but still had to deal with the consequences of their actions.

Yes, of course he did. Because of their transgression, death and sin entered the world. God already knew this would happen.
1 Corinthians 15:
20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
He provided a savior who overcame death (and because of this everyone will overcome death/be resurrected).
He also overcame sin (paid for everyones sins). Now it is up to us whether or not we accept the payment he made for our sins by repenting (Godly sorrow, ask forgiveness, forsake).

apparently not, Adam and Eve did the crime, and everyone is doing the time, massive punishment is not a good, forgiving God.
Edit:
Well I guess they weren't perfect to begin with when they didn't listen to God. Which means God isn't perfect because god didn't make adam and eve perfect either.
and
With free will, I'm sure they ask for forgiveness from God, but he wasn't hearing none it.
and
If it wasn't bad enough, God decides to kill the population of the world(minus Noah and his family), because of what adam and eve did centuries ago.
also
When God sent jesus down to Earth, so that he can die for our "sins" and go back to heaven, I guess God didn't really have nothing to lose because he got his son back in the end.
Have a nice weekend.

Yes, He did, but they introduced imperfection into something that was perfect, and that cannot be erased. Ironically, had Adam and Eve not sinned, we might be living in Eden right now; but since they did, we can now acheive heaven! which is even better! Talk about a merciful God! We screw up, and because we make ammends, He rewards us with something better than what we had before we screwed up.

I think God forgave them but he also punished them for what they did by eating the forbidden fruit.

No.
As they were created perfect, the fact that they rejected that perfection precedes any possible salvation. There is no forgiveness for these two, who had eternal life on earth in front of them, but chose rather, to usurp the soveriegnty of God, in deciding for themselves what is right and wrong.
