I am a very picky eater. There are very few foods that i will actually eat. I like everything plain(hamburgers,hotdogs,etc...
Here is the problem. Next weekend i am going to have dinner at my girlfriends house. It is a sure garauntee that i will not like the food. What should I do? How can I not eat without coming off as rude or leaving a bad impression.

I don't eat junk food. what i meant is that when i eat a hamburger i only eat it with bun and meat that's all no condiments. I eat very healthy but i can probably count the foods i will actually eat and it's probably less than 100.

Does your gf know of your picky eating habits? Surely she'll see to it that there is something that you will like. If not, don't just turn your nose up,try some.

"No matter what, assume that your host or server is right. Assume they've set the forks out in the right order and that they know what they're doing. Along these lines, you should tell them beforehand if you have food allergies or you're a vegetarian or you're a diabetic or lactose intolerant or whatever. While they should ask, you really can't fault them too much if you didn't tell them about your special allergy to lettuce or something, and you end up looking bad for not eating it if they put it in front of you."
You have to understand that unless you are on a diet ordered by a doctor, have food allergies, are a vegetarian, etc, the kind of thing you are talking about is simply pickiness. I think it would be fine to call and let your hostess know that you have a special diet, but it's not medically necessary. Therefore, offer to bring a dish that you will eat to add to the meal. However, it should be something that others will like and a side dish- no plain hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.
In the mean time, you might TRY something new once in a while. Your taste buds change all the time. That's why something that someone hated seven years ago can suddenly become something that they like now.

Listen to me--I used to be a VERY picky eater! When ordering my burgers, I'd take everything off except for the meat and cheese. As I got older, I realized this was not good etiquette and sloppy for a lady, so I just sucked it all up, and just ate the burger with everything in it, and then drank the drink next to me if it tasted that bad. You need to stop being so selfish, if your GF's parents and her are gonna serve you dinner, you eat it!
NO ONE likes a picky eater!!!

At a very elegant banquet at Buckingham Palace, the Emperor of Japan drank the water with flower petals they had put in front of him to clean his fingers. The Queen had to do exactly the same so that the Emperor wouldn't feel embarrassed.
That's called etiquette, my dear friend.
What I'm trying to say is that there are times when you have to do something you don't like. I can assure you this is not going to be the last time you go through something like this.
There's always a possibility you'll like the food or at least some of it.
You can eat a little and say you have an upset stomach.
Do you understand what you're doing to your body by eating only junk food?
Not my business but you should really change your habits for your own good.

Offer to bring a dish - this way there's something you'll eat.
Otherwise, suck it up and try small amounts of everything served. You might find something new to like. (Less than 100 different foods? Sheeesh. That's SO limited!)

Serve a small amount and eat it slowly so that there is no chance of offering you more. No apologies just say that you don't eat more than that normally. If you are on the defensive you will look guilty.

Just take what it is that you like. When someone there asks why you only took what you did, just kinda make a bit of a joke out of it. Some people are kinda weird about it, but only if they think that you're gonna get offended by them saying anything.
At least you don't have OCD to go along with it.

Just suck it up.
Take small portions of the things that you think you will find least objectionable and eat it with a smile on your face.
By the way - anyone that eats hot dogs is not all that picky.

You need to broaden your horizons, unless your girlfriend knows you are very picky with what you eat. If i were you i would have a conversation with your girlfriend about what you guys will be having for dinner. blame allergies if you have to.

you can't. you will either have to make up some lie, pretend to eat, or simply refuse the food.
so why have dinner at all? why not arrange to come by after the meal and bring the dessert which you can decline?
