Many atheists, not all, call Creationist who do not believe in evolution "nuts, stupid" those atheists may forget that in class, believers have to take science class, and pass that science class to graduate.

Not believing does not mean you don't understand how things work or are said to work. I don't believe in evolution, but I understand how it is said to work.

I don't try to or mean to say that I am the best, but I am smart enough. Learned English in around a year, learning Italian, and preparing to be a lawyer.

Different belief do not make us less smart, just different. That is all.

The problem with creationists is that they will 'memorize' things about evolution, but since they've already made up their minds that the information is false, they truly don't understand it... Call it a mental block that they can't get passed.

Evolution is not based on belief as creationism is. It follows the scientific method and is a theory based on facts. And to clarify, 'theory' in science is not the same as how people use 'theory' in everyday life. For scientists it means something very specific (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory).

There is not another theory out there that explains as much as evolution does, and can also be used to predict things that will occur. Every scientific field even remotely related to the topic supports it: genetics, anthropology, paleontology, radiology, etc. The list goes on and on...

I'm not saying all creationists are stupid. I am saying that they have made up their mind without reviewing enough information. There's a difference.

I have yet to find a creationist that can effectively talk about science when dealing with the topic of evolution. They just don't educate themselves enough because they think they already know everything, based on what their ministers told them.

The site below gives information regarding all of the common (and not so common) fallacies that creationists use to support their arguments. I've heard them over and over again, but they just don't pan out.

Don't believe me? Check out the site yourself and see what it says about creationist's supposed issues with evolution.

P.S. I'm NOT an atheist. I'm a Christian who understands science.

Passing a science class is hardly enough to be educated on evolution. Most Atheists don't call all Christians names. But a large majority (90%) of Creationists are very ignorant to the science of evolution. They use arguments like "why are there still monkeys", "2nd Law of Thermo" and "watch proves watchmaker".

I would actually guess that you know far less then you think you know about evolution. For exmaple, I have yet to meet someone with a complete or near complete understanding of evolution who didn't accept it.

Its not that I don't believe in Evolution.
Evolution: 1) an unfolding, process of development or change 2) a thing evolved 3) a movement that is part of a series 4)a: the development of a species, organism, etc. from its original to its present state b:
the theory that all species developed from earlier forms(species meaning a group of plants or animals that makes up a genus)
Yes, I believe all that, I just don't believe that Humans were once Monkeys. I believe that Humans have always been Humans and Monkeys have always been Monkeys. I believe the Bible and the fact that it totally disconcerns that fact that man evolved from a monkey. I believe in a Creator that being God, the Creator of all things, Man, Plants, Animals, the Universe, Air, Water, ect.......... I don't think that the way a person believes makes them any less intelligent then anyone else. The fact that one would honestly think that they were more intelligent then others because of their belief is fooling noone but themselves.

Evolution is a fact that you can see every day of the week. Every dog that has parents of two different species is a direct product of evolution.

Now if you do not wish to apply that to humankind, and all of the different ways that we have clearly adapted (evolved) to different regions of the world , then that IS an indication that you are willing to disregard hard evidence in favour of blind faith. Your choice of course.

I believe in God as the creator, but that doesnt mean I think we just popped into existence out of thin air. If you believe in Adam and Eve then you should remember that their son Cain was outcast and wandered until he found other places with people who saw the mark of sin and shunned him.

How and why were there other fully established communities if Adam and Eve were the first and only 2 parents? If you are going to take your information from only one source then do yourself the favour of getting all the info that it has to offer.

The only answer that makes any sense is that God created all that we see, from the heavens and earth, to every living thing from the beginning, by a process which he started and continues to watch over.

Evidence is clear that rocks date back millions of years. Nowhere in the bible did it say when God created all of these things. It is the arrogance of mankind to impose a numerical value on it.

Faith fills in the gaps for what we don't yet know but God gave us the ABILITY to acquire knowledge and to ignore that is blasphemy. .

We have this uncanny ability to paraphrse the bible.

the best example is twisting the golden rule into a motivation for revenge ie "Do unto others as they do unto you"

THAT"S NOT HOW IT GOES!!!!

IT IS " Do unto others as YOU WOULD HAVE them do unto you " in other words set the right example in the first place.

It was not the tree of ALL knowledge...just the knowledge of GOOD and EVIL .

Again just omit 3 words and you change the meaning entirely The idea that we should not want to learn because it questions our faith is a product of the dark ages when peoples ignorance was maintained by the church as a means to hold onto power

What you say is partially true. You do NOT need to "believe" in evolution to get by in life or be a good person. However, if you understand what evolution REALLY is and how it REALLY works (and not the religious propaganda that is being put forth) then "not believing in evolution" says a lot about your character. If I say that I don't believe Bush got us involved in the Iraq war, does that make it true? You are using the same "reasoning", and it does NOT work. The "slam dunk" of evolution is the understanding of how DNA works. Once you understand that, evolution become obvious. I think the real problem here is that human beings can't understand that if God chose to use evolution to make us, then what is wrong with that? I'm not real big on telling God what to do. No matter how we managed to get here, its a miracle that we are here at all.

Atheists themselves can't agree upon what to believe. If you was to ask a bunch of atheists what evolution is they would give you different answers. But they all cling to this THEORY of evolution like it was written in stone. As we all know a theory is just an educated guess.
Whenever a portion of the evolution theory is dicredited and science admits there guess was off the athiests will still cling to it for dear life.
Creationists don't have all the answers but they present a far more scientific proven and reliable explanation for life. Even the top scientists can't find fault with creationists.

Yes, you're right, some atheists do that. I'm a Christian and I accept evolution as well. I don't think you're dumb. However, to me it makes sense. In the Bible it says on the first day. Well, a day to God could have been thousands and millions of years. You see, I believe God got it going, but evolution is what happened. Did you know the Christian/Jewish creation story was made up in 500BC and modeled after the Mesopotamian one?

Sure they do, but why worry. Many Atheists are called worse
than that because they do. Why do you care. Analize the
evidence, make your choice and don't worry be happy.
For a nation founded upon religious tolerance. There is an
amazing amount of religious intolarance in American society.
The Middle East showcases what Religious Intolarance run
rampant can do.

Those people who say things to put others down for their beliefs are doing it for a reason. For some it may be that they don't understand those beliefs in the first place. For others it may simply be an easy out as opposed to having to explain their own beliefs (which they may not truly understand either). These types of comments are ignorant and made by ignorant people. Don't let them get you down....
