This is a tough one. I've seen my boss in similar situations, and there are many reasons why. Often things come up beyond his control that preempt the interview, but then again, many times it's just a case of overbooking his schedule. The big deciding factor, if it were me, would be how closely would I be working with this person , and in what capacity. If their inability to stick to a schedule would directly impact your job, then drop it now. If not, and it seems like a job you'd really want, call her back with a specific date and time for an interview. If you take the initiative and show that you're a person of action, it could work in your favor. And if she flakes on that appointment, I'd say she's probably never going to be able to hire anyone!

Don't be so negative... It could be that the interviewer is just SUPER busy -- probably because she's doing the job of 2 people instead of just one! At this point, you have nothing to lose. If you know where the office is, put on your best suit and go on down there. Introduce yourself and say, "I know that you've been incredibly busy and that's why we've not had a chance to chat. So I thought I would come in today and give you a free day's work to show you what I'm capable of, and to give you enough of a break that you can focus on getting this position filled. Let me answer your phones for you for the rest of the afternoon, and if you have a few moments to chat at the end of the day, that would be great. If not, please keep me in mind for any other opportunities that might come up." I am an HR professional and had an employee do that to me before. I was FLOORED by the ingenuity and the determination to prove that she could do the job. I let her work the entire day, observed how she handled herself, chatted with her when the office closed, and hired her then and there. These days, you have to do things that set you apart from the rest! Good luck!

Listen, one busy person should not be the cause of you rejecting a job, for all you know it could turn out to be an amazing role.
All of these people teling you to forget about it are not the ones passing up the opportunity and they don't know your situation or the potential employers.
The person who interviews you might not even be the person that you work for.
Hang in there and keep chasing her if nothing comes of it what have you lost? but if a job offer does come from this then you have gained a great deal

Addressing by rank may be the main secure way, and touching on something by way of fact the 'team' sounds good. Junior contributors of the interview committee could have been chosen on the final minute. Like they say in naval words, 'shine the brass' first; you won't be ready to flow incorrect. Now, right this is a curve. handle the thank you be conscious to the pinnacle of the committee, yet supply them thank you notes addressed to the 'different commemorated Interviewers' on the committee, and ask the guy in value to grant them to his/her subordinates. which will practice which you recognize the chain of command, and people who make the hiring judgements would be pronounced. you are able to/won't get the job by being so 'gallant', notwithstanding it rather is going to serve you properly by using your occupation. thank you notes are a lost area of enterprise manners. it rather is going to entice interest once you are able to bear in mind a thank you to coach a typical kindness...and it will assist you down the line. between the failings I did years back...I knew that i replaced into going to be interviewed by a committee and knew who replaced into going to be on the committee by call, and place. earlier the interview all started, I surpassed each of them a thank you card. No, i did not get the job...yet I valuable made them think of two times with regard to the alternative that they made of their on minds earlier interviewing me! Har Har!

I think she just doesn't have the balls to tell you that you aren't the person for the position. Either that or she's so disorganized she makes a gangbang seem like a well planned event. )pardon the language)
I'd say , keep after her until it sounds like she's had enough of you, but don't count on anything but more jerking around.

A scheduling conflict one time I can understand, but multiple times? Come on now. . .you need to look elsewhere for employment. Unless this is your DREAM position that you're fighting to get into, just move on. There are lots of admin./clerical positions out there!! Find one where you'll be a good fit for real!!!
Good luck!!

This is a major red flag. You shouldn't want to work for someone that's being unprofessional and flakey. Move on - keep sending out those resumes to other companies and forget about this one. If she ever gets around to contacting you, then it's your call, but keep your eyes peeled for other red flags.

She obviously is really stupid or really does not want to interview you. You pick either way you should definitely move on to another job. You have already wasted what three weeks on this waiting crap. She is turning you into her.
