God did not make patron saints.
Patron Saints were created by the Catholic Church as a way to honor religious people who dedicated their lives to their religion. Human beings create/name patron saints, not god.
In addition, saints are not the equals to what the Greeks and Romans felt were gods. Gods are omniscient, generally. Patron saints do not have powers of their own: the are intercessors to god.

well God does not need saints it is the flesh that created saints. i believe in God the father God the son God the holy spirit and i don't worship any idols or saints. so get your fact together and realize that only some religion's worship and praise saints and idols. that quote about being the devils advocate is wrong but people made the saints more important than God.

He is far more AWESOME than your giving Him credit for. You should read the Bible and get to know Him, He gave us the authority on earth that is why He can only operate through us if we allow Him to do so. He is simply the best God any created being could ever hope for. Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

Pardon me for being the devil's advocate here, but I think you've got this backwards. Patron saints are recognized for their devotion. People appointed them.

He doesn't need patron saints.
We don't really need them either -- but they sure do help a lot.

He doesn't. Patron saints are a Catholic doctrine which is not biblical.

It is so easy to find contradictions in matters of faith that I do not even waste my time. It is curious though, that for some it is so difficult to abandon once and for all this type of illusion...
Why? From where come this felling of doing something wrong? Something sinful?
If you are free of sins, free yourself of Christ!
No? Why? Does it seam sin full? :)
