How soon did you get engaged after meeting your partner, and how soon after that did you marry and has it lasted.
Mine is two weeks to engagement,nine weeks later married in 1969 still very happily married, star if you think that is good please,

we met in 10th grade, started dating in 12th and we got engaged the day after i graduated from college. we got married a little over a year later and have been married 14 months now.
i am glad your relationship worked out, many with those kind of stats would not. (if you meant you got engaged two weeks after meeting).

Can't beat you but you sound soooooo lucky and I wish you continued happiness for the future. I am a 'Golden Oldie' too (not that I feel it). Still happily married since Jan 1971 but we were 2 years together when we got engaged and married 2 years later.......weren't we sad??? We bought this house for being married and are still here. It was built around 1891, a six aparmtent so brought up our family here. Love the house to bits but are beginning to wonder if we should downgrade since there are now just the 2 of us here. We also have had a home in Mallorca for 27 yrs but have never actually sold a property. Bet the young ones reading this think we are sooooo sad but in the sixties didn't we really see life!???!!!

Moved in together 3 months after meeting each other, engaged a year later, married 4 months after that. Been married for 8 months.

I always believed in meeting someone, getting married straight away and building a life with them. I believe marriages last longer than the ones who are engaged for 10 years, been together 15 years, and married for 2 years.

That's so lovely! I'm engaged I think we were engaged after about 5 months or so, which I've never thought about but it is quite a short time really (in my way of thinking anyways) We're not married yet and that was about 3 years ago hahaha! I haven't even got my ring yet :( shame. But I'm so picky I want the perfect ring for me.
I think it doesn't really matter how long/soon you leave it to get engaged, the best relationships don't even think about those things. We don't even remember any of our dates..we tend to pick one every year hehe it's not what really matters I think.

We didn't get engaged for a good 3 and a half years. In the middle of a 2 year engagement.

Congratulations to you, that's wonderful to hear. For some people getting engaged that soon would not be a good thing, I am glad I have had time to get to know my husband to be for the 2 and a half years we have been together, we needed that time and I am more than happy to have really been careful and got to know each other to this extent.

I started a relationship with my fiance at the beginning of january of this year, engaged 2 months later, and the wedding is on july 21! (3 more weeks!!!)
