Absolutely yes I know that God is there for me at all times, even in times when HE must correct me to guide me to new truths. God is there all the time, if we feel far away, we must remember that He never moves, it is we that move.

Absolutely! Knowing that God is consistent, that He loves me enough to chastise me and steer me back on the right path is an absolute comfort to me! And child psychologist worth His salt, will tell you that children want and need guidance and discipline. That's what the rod and the staff represent to me! Scripture tells us that God disciplines those He loves! Man he must love me a lot! lol!

Especially when I was beside someone who was lying in a hospital bed, dying....

I didn't even know Rod had a staff. I though cost cutting forced him to let them all go.
Otherwise Rod has been very comforting.

LOL,
I have used mine to comfort a select few during my lifetime. My wife owns them now though. She keeps them in a glass jar above the fireplace. I only get to play with them when she isn't looking.
