Christianity should be based on its founder's principles which include "Turn the other cheek", "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you", "Love your enemies and pray for those persecuting you", "Forgive seventy-times-seven" etc. Immature Christians, or would-be-Christians, give Christianity a bad name when they use any kind of ridicule or disrespect against others. But a hallmark of Christianity is standing up for the truth of Christ. In today's PC world, that is taken as intolerance, so Christians have to tread carefully. But Christ is "a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offence" to many non-Christians, so ridicule comes with the territory.
Unfortunately the Jesus of the Qur'an is not portrayed in such a manner, so Islamic concepts of him are at odds with Christian concepts. Muslims read in the Qur'an that Jesus was a Muslim. They believe that the Bible we have today is a gross distortion. This makes it almost impossible for a meaningful dialogue to take place between Christians and Muslims. And Muslim views of those who are not "people of the Book", and of atheists etc are even less tolerant than their dim view of Christians and Jews! When you are dealing with a group that believes everyone else is wrong but them, and that you must become one of them to be saved, you find yourself walking on eggshells. But Jesus walked on water, so....

You don't have to. Walking on eggshells is seen as a sign of weakness by Islamists particularly, so don't do it.
Don't treat them any differently than criticising Christains or Jews or any other people of any other religion, and don't allow them to intimidate you or anyone else for doing so.
Edit: To Nora. Judaism's foundational beliefs are absolutely nothing like Christianity's. They are diametrically opposite in fact. Most people who have never been around Judaism have no clue that this is the case. If you'd like to educate yourself so that you can make accurate statements in the future, try here:

The United States was founded on Christianity, therfore it's part of our social fabric whether we like it or not, examples of this are everywhere. The majority of Americans that are 3rd 4th and 5th generation; thier Ancestors were more then likely Christian or Catholic. Therefore We feel more comfortable ridiculing Christianity and Catholisism because we've for the most part grew up with it. There is no fear of reprisal for speaking out against Christianity, and for the most part in this day and age it is encouraged because of our Freedoms.
Islam is a fairly new concept to Americans although it's always been here, but now it has been magnified because of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Outspoken Atheists, and Homosexuals in Muslim countrys are non existent, they would be beat or executed.
In Closing; because Hindu's, Buddists, Hira Krishna's MUSLIMS, ect..are not deep rooted in American culture, little is still known about them and therfore considered Taboo to riducle or speak out against; even though there are similar teachings NOT THE SAME but similar i.e. not believing in God, Adultry and Homosexuality is condeming yourself to Hell. Most religions/Faiths all teach these things, but people feel uncomfortable ridiculing something they know little or nothing about. Christianity is a large target because it's infused with the American aura and people feel comfortable ridiculing it, also people don't like being told they are going to be judged when they die.

A bit crudely put, but the reason I critizcize Christianity more than Islam is simply because I`m more comfortable doing it. I have enough knowledge about Christianity that I can make a reasonable comment on it.

You understand how you as a christian look at Non-believers? Well, that is how they look at you. You are just a lowly infidel. Your life is worthless. You may take what I am telling you as humor if you want, I certainly don't care. But everyone had best wake up and do a little reading on that religion.

It's okay to be critical of a religion, but it doesn't have to provocative. Many of my family members question my decision to be a Muslim, but they are respectful even though it's clear they don't like what I'm telling them.

Maybe it's because some people don't know that much about Islam to have full means to critisize it.
Peace.

People hate the truth about the one and only true GOD and most are brainwashed by Satan so they try to destroy Christianity.

Huh?
Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are all the same religion. They are the 'people of the book' and as such believe all the same things. Their fundamentalists, who interpret their books literally, are alike as peas in a pod.
Anything you see about Christianity, feel free to apply it to Judaism AND Islam, imo.
