Products that promote exfoliation can help diminish the appearance of shallow scars. For example, Neutrogena Advance Solutions Facial Peel. http://neutrogena.com/ProductsDetails_262.asp?lProductLineID=13
Some home remedies: You can crush up 6 plain, uncoated aspirin tablets and mix it w/ a little water to make mask. Or mix half a teaspoon of crushed uncoated aspirin tablets with Queen Helene Mint Julep mask or aloe vera gel to use as a mask. Apply a thin layer to your face & let dry for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off w/ cool water.
The other thing you can do is to consult your doctor or a dermatologist about Retin-A or Differin. These prescription products promote cell turnover & stimulate collagen production. I've used both of these medications & they have helped dimish some of my shallow acne scars. Differin is a bit easier on my skin than Retin-A.
If you decide to try Retin-A or Differin, then be sure to wear sunscreen daily. These products make your skin more sensitive to the sun. You also should avoid waxing for brows, upper lip, etc. because they thin the skin & waxing could tear off some skin. If you get salon facials, always let the tech. know beforehand.
Microdermabrasion can help too. For more information: http://www.acne-scars.ca/removals/dermabrasion-removal.htm

Niacinamide face cleansing pads are effective and simple way to keep acne away. Just place a pad on the pimple and watch it fade away. Lavender Oil helps prevent skin drying. Niacinamide pads are also known as Vitamin B3 pads or Nicotinamide pads. Give them a try and you will be pleasantly surprised. Niacinamide also helps diminish skin-hyperpigmentation (acne scars).

It matters where you live. If you live in the UK then you can buy a product called bio oil and it gets rid of any kind of scars. I'm not sure whether you can buy it in the US but if you can get hold of it then you're plain sailing. Some scars fade naturally so don't wind yourself too tightly about it

The best thing is to go the dermatologist. Differin is a good drug but costly and you need a precription. Try buying a vitamin C cream and applying that - it's not harsh and no side effects.
