What can i feed this bird?

Rang RSPCA! no help
Rang Vet! no help!! he said it would more likely die or he would take it off my hands for £170.00 - (I just can't afford to)

I have placed the bird (guessing it's a sparrow) into a little container with paper tissues - i have not touched it with my bare hands!

I will do what i can to help keep it alive - although it is worrying me that i don't know if it has any injuries from it's fall!!! - it seems ok..it is moving!!!

any advice/tips welcome please!!

You need to try and find the nest it fell out of...if you can find it and reach it....replace it into the nest. Do not worry about adults abandoning it..birds cannot smell, it is a total myth they will smell you scent on their baby! If you cannot find or reach the nest..get this bird to a local wildlife rehabilitation in your area. Do not attempt to feed and raise it on your own. Do an internet search, if your vet or RSPCA had no suggestions on where to take the bird. You might also try a pet store that may know of someone who rehabilitates birds. Good Luck.

Call the humane society or the birds conservatory. Meanwhile,(while you wait for them to pick he/she up) you can make a worm mash and try feeding it to the baby sparrow and put it in a warm humid place. P.S luckily this isn't a baby hawk or a baby eagle or else you have to leave it alone or put it back in the nest.

You can try to keep it alive BUT it is a long process and you will require mashed up worms and the like - Often the parents throw sick and injured birds from the nest.

I once discovered on very tiny no feathers eyes hardly formed i got a shoebox for it and bedded it out.I went to my grandads who was a bird keeper for advice and he told me to feed it with cat food unfortunatly he just wasent strong enough and died before i had the chance.You could always go and tap the ground raise some worms and feed him.

Oh this sort of happened to me. You can go to a local fishing or bait store or pet store and get some worms. You can get a soda lid and fill it with water or something. It is good you haven't touched it. If you find the nest it came from, then you can maybe put it back.

Hope this helps! =>

It will die. It hasn't fallen out of the nest. It has been pushed out by the parents or siblings because they know it is ill or weak. Put it under a bush and let nature deal with it.

You could try worms, my friend once found a bird that was injured, it lived of oats until it was set free.
