Has any one tried the pill form of acne medicine if so how does it work?

I have tried everything proactive, clearisil, clean and clear u name it and I was allergic to almost everything like my face whould burn bad and itch (it was unbearible and I wouldnt go out in public until it went away). The things I wasnt allergic to would work. So I am going to the dermatoligist next month and want to finally get something that works. I have used bencilin and it seemed to work ok but I want something stronger like maybe combind it with a pill.

I suffered from Adult acne for many years. I had it pretty much all over my face and back (gross). If you have insurance, get Accutane (sp?)!! I have not had acne since taking it about 6-7 years ago. It has changed my life like you would not believe. Yes, I did have some side effects and you have to be very careful when you are on it, but it was worth it! If your skin is/was like mine, nothing over the counter worked for me. Usually everything made it worse. i wasted to much money on products. Adult acne needs to be treated from the inside out. Best wishes to you!!

A dermatologist can prescribe anti-biotics to kill the bacteria which cause acne & topical treatments to address existing blemishes. This comprehensive approach works for most people.

At few points in my life, OTC products just weren't enough so I've had to go to a dermatologist for stronger treatments which helped a lot.

Yes i have taken it. Didnt work for me though. A good product (its new) is garnier nutritioniste skin renew moisture lotion. I have been dealing w acne for years and this really works!! Wash your face with soap then use this twice a day. Your skin will be very very soft. I also have very sensitive skin and wont burn!! But def go to the dermitoligist also.

Try ZENO!! Basically it is a heating treatment, where you add heat to the blemish. They sell it at Walgreens for about 125 dollars, but it works really well. Pimples can disappear in as little as one day. I'm serious..

there are several different medications. most derms, will put you on a regimin of pills and creams and maybe even a face wash or more. they have to examine you first to determine what they think will work
