Our immigration department has records of all who came from Mexico legally, take that list and if the illegals you encounter are not on that list then they are here illegally.
This list should be sent to every police department in the nation.
It would only take a second to run a check through a computer.
Personally I think you can tell illegals from legals, somethings are obvious if you aren't blind.
Besides what difference does it make if some people get hurt feelings, protecting our country is worth all those poor little hurt feelings.

djchilo: LAWS ARE LAWS POLICE JUST CAN'T PICK AND CHOSE,
SERVE AND PROTECT remember?
THEY ARE NOT DOING A GOOD JOB of either
See your local law enforcement doesn't make money detaining illegals,
they would much rather enforce laws that are profitable for their state, county, etc. Liketickets, MJ laws, fees, fines etc.

I like your ideas.
I also think that any illegal arrested should be added to the DNA database. The illegal alien railroad serial killer apprehended a few years ago had been deported multiple times during the course of his killing and raping.
Sanctuary cities should be COMPELLED to report illegal aliens.
Law enforcement agencies should be COMPELLED to verify status, arrest and detain illegal aliens and immediately notify ICE.
All social service organizations should be COMPELLED to verify status, notify local authorities and ICE..then illegals wouldn't even apply.
Employers should be COMPELLED to verify the legal status of all employees and file a report quarterly with the government. Discrepancies should be investigated.

That's fine with me, as long as the police wait until they have cause to run a check on someone. You are assuming that the list is complete and updated, which is placing more faith in the bueraucrats at INS than I have.
I'd be against rounding up a group of olive skinned people and getting ID from all of them--this is still America, and I'd need for there to be a much bigger threat to national security than illegal immigrants for me to approve of that nazi crap. But if they catch a criminal, they should certainly make a check to see if he is supposed to be here.
Response to edit: Yes, I'm talking about the Americans and Residents you'll accidentally round up, question, detain while you check your list, and then release and think that makes it OK. If the cops come to your job, lock you in the back of a squad car or haul you to jail for an hour, figure out you aren't a criminal and let you go, are you fine with that? You may be fine with it the first time it happens, but the fifth or sixth and you'll start thinking about moving to a free country! Let's just say it's a habit I'd really hate to see the cops get into--if they can do it for immigrants, it's only a matter of time until everyone loses that freedom. We need to do something about this problem, but this isn't it.
By the way, did you hear about the cops in florida that would pull six squad cars to a construction site to see who runs? Then they arrest whoever cut through a yard or whatever for trespassing, and sort out who's legal at the station. It's a questionable tactic, but not nearly as oppressive and harmful to a free society.

As far as telling one from the other could you elaborate? what are those traits that are obvious? I am not blind, but maybe you could give some pointers. Do they have pointy noses? How about a tail...Do they have tails?? Perhaps they glow in the dark...I am sure that would help catch them especially at night.
There already is a way for all law enforcement to tell. It is a government ran computer system. They just enter the persons info and if they don't have legal records they are illegal. Plus the "legals" are supposed to carry their immigration cards/documents which can easily be verified.
The fraudulent document problem and "impostors" would be the only speedbumps. but most fraud docs are pretty poorly crafted.

So let me ask you this. Say you found all the illegals on that list, what next? March them one by one back to Mexico where two days later they'll be crawling back across the river? Front the money to put them all on Greyhound buses and drive them back?
Doesn't matter if you find them. The government knows who and where they are, or at least how to get that information. It's about what to do with the ones who are here illegally now and what steps to take to prevent them from coming back illegally.
Really, I think the government is confused about what to do knowing that they screwed up several years ago by allowing this to happen and then also allowing it to continue to happen. Now, they're in over their heads, it's hard for them to back out and it becomes a chicken/egg scenario. Do we put up preventative measures first? Or do we get the ones here already out first? And if so what needs to be done to accomplish either? How much money will it cost? How much time will it take?
EDIT: What are these means of keeping them out that you speak of? Border patrol? Clearly that's the working solution seeing as most of them skip that part. Building a wall? Will never happen - this is not Berlin or China. Farmers in south Texas with shotguns? They've already started building their own walls. I understand that methods aren't being enforced - believe me, I live in Dallas and I can't go 2 miles in any direction from anywhere without entering "Little Mexico". When you get the solution to this question and it will work all the way around, please, let congress know.

They can be here illegally but approved to have TPS and work permit. The police can't even take care of the crime we have here, like they have enough man power and time to go out and get all the illegal immigrants who aren't approved to work here.
What traits are obvious to tell the difference between a legal and illegal immigrant? You're an idiot if you think you can.
Are you protecting our country? Are you in some armed forces or something like that, our country needs a lot more than getting out illegal immigrants to protect it. Stop hating!

Movies aren't really "programs," per se. They're movies. If he physically gave them to you on CD or DVD media, there's no reason this would get you in trouble unless you've otherwise caught the attention of authorities and the movies were discovered in a raid. Your friend's chances of getting caught, however, are pretty good if he downloaded them illegitimately through his Internet service at home (i.e. through the Gnutella network using Limewire, Bearshare, etc) or other peer-to-peer resources (bit torrent).

I like it. We as real Americans need to stand up and do something about these illegals if the government won't. We all have the right to protect our nation from foreign invaders using any force necessary, and these people are foreign and invaded our nation under the cover of night intentionally trying not to get caught, they should be seen as a foreign army and treated as such. What the difference between jeans and t-shirt and a uniform if you invaded this country?

Hey, I'm not on any list of Mexicans who are here legally. Oh my god I must be illegal.
I agree about Law is the law. If the police catch someone who's illegal turn them over, but don't if they report something.

Sounds like a decent idea to me. BUT they aren't doing anything to round up the illegals. This would require them to make a few people mad and make a couple million happy. I don't think they get it. They could make a few million people happy (legal citizens and voters) or make a few million people unhappy(illegal aliens and non voters). Granted there would be some who are legal AND would be unhappy, but it is a small price to pay for security.

Hey like i told someone else. I have a really big van and we can just drive around and citizen arrest as many mexicans as i can fit in my van. Then we can take them down to ICE/INS and drop them off with them. I heard you get 500$ per head, that leads to arrest of illegal.
I am ready to start today.
And if by chance i accidently catch a legal one, than oh well, he will be released when they find out he is actually legal.
And yes, if they look mexican, then they will be picked up by me. No one can sue me because i have little to no savings hahaha. Nor do i own a house or assets. So, go a head sue me for it.
As for the one's from africa and anyone else, well they make up such a small amount that it isnt worth my time. I can go drive to walmart right now, and fill up my van with just the people standing outside.
